UNSW Master of Engineering Science (Civil Engineering) is a two-year postgraduate degree in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Specialise in cinema studies, communications and journalism, media studies, public relations & advertising, or screen production. Media studies
Gain the critical skills and knowledge you need to understand, analyse, and respond to the pivotal role of media in contemporary life. After building a firm foundation in media studies debates, methods, and history, you’ll be able to choose from a suite of electives that allow you to sharpen your focus on questions relating to justice, race, ethics, or emerging technologies. 

You’ll develop critical thinking and writing skills that allow you to make persuasive arguments, engage with challenging issues, and solve new problems. With an array of research methods and analytical techniques in your back pocket, you’ll bring your combination of critical and creative skills to life as a media change-maker.

Data science is playing an increasingly important and controversial role in legal practice and the legal system more broadly. However, the number of lawyers with expertise in data analysis or machine learning is small.

This has implications for the delivery of justice as inappropriate methods are often employed by those who do lack sufficient knowledge of the legal domain. However, it also creates opportunities for those with dual expertise to find better ways to use data science to enhance access to justice, increase rates of settlement, and improve the efficiency of legal practice and the broader legal system.

Data Science and Decisions/Law is jointly offered by UNSW Law and Justice and UNSW Science.

The UNSW Master of Translation is a 1.7 year full-time postgraduate degree that prepares you for a successful career as a certified translator, both in Australia and overseas. Choose from a variety of languages and industry specialisations. You'll learn current theory and critical skills from leading interpreting and linguistics practitioners and researchers, while gaining practical experience in professional settings.

The Master of Professional Accounting (Extension) follows the structure of the Master of Professional Accounting but adds four extra courses in your choice of electives to further your knowledge. Through optometry, many vision problems and eye diseases can be corrected or managed, restoring sight to people from all walks of life.

Optometrists diagnose vision problems, eye diseases and other eye health issues. These highly skilled professionals correct poor vision and manage or slow degenerative eye diseases with corrective lenses, optical aids, therapy or medication.

The Bachelor of Vision Science/Master of Clinical Optometry provides you with the clinical skills and training required to gain registration to practice optometry. It combines the theoretical discipline of vision science with the clinical expertise of primary eye care. 

This degree intertwines mechanical engineering, control engineering and software development, specifically for controlling sophisticated smart machines.

Mechatronic engineers work across all aspects of smart machines – from design and testing through to manufacture in industries such as robotics, medical and assistive technology, human-machine interaction, manufacturing, unmanned aerial and ground vehicles and education.

Through your study at UNSW Engineering, you’ll develop hybrid skills in mechanics, electronics and computing. Our students come to understand the conception, design, construction, maintenance, integration and repair of smart machines. These machines include robots, white goods, cameras, automated test equipment and transport vehicles.

This bachelor’s degree will build your knowledge in areas including building services, computer-controlled plant, manufacturing, robotics and autonomous vehicles.
