The UNSW Master of Applied Linguistics is a two-year full-time postgraduate degree that will prepare you to develop linguistic knowledge for cross-cultural communication in diverse professional, educational and interdisciplinary settings.

Medical science is the foundation that the practice of medicine is built on. This degree delves into how the human body functions and responds to disease and drug treatments. It incorporates facets of several scientific disciplines to provide you with an extensive understanding of the human body.

The Bachelor of Medical Science explores:

• The structure and chemistry of the cells that make up living organisms (cell & molecular biology and biochemistry)
• The structure and function of the human body (anatomy and physiology)

Molecular Biology

Molecular Biology is a marriage of biochemistry, microbiology and cell biology. It will have an increasingly important role to play in many aspects of modern medicine, genetics, evolutionary biology, bioinformatics, biotechnology and genomics.

Communications and Journalism (Major)
In choosing to specialise in communication & journalism for your Bachelor of Media at UNSW, you’ll be armed with the knowledge, skills, and experience you need to make your mark in journalism. Study and explore the different crucial developments, contexts, and practices of the media and communications industries—which will allow you to build a strong critical and practical understanding of the evolving communications landscape in relation to diverse contexts. The Master of Health Leadership and Management/Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence is a 1.7 year postgraduate double degree that provides you with the advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills for health services management roles in government, community and health service settings in Australia and internationally.

You'll develop a deep understanding of infectious diseases in the era of new and emerging disease threats, and learn management approaches for the identification, assessment, prevention and control of infectious diseases. You'll also be equipped with the specialised skills and leadership needed for professional practice in control of infectious diseases and for health management research and evidence-based professional practice.

Telecommunications are responsible for a range of services used on a daily basis including landline and mobile phone services, internet and pay television. The widespread adaptation of high-speed digital transmission methods like fibre optic cabling and mobile telecommunications has resulted in significant changes in the industry.  

Telecommunications Engineers design, develop and maintain all aspects of voice and data communications systems. They work on the theory and application of a broad range of systems such as telephone and data networks, radio and TV, satellites and deep space applications. To get you work ready, you'll apply these skills through 60 days of approved industry training.
