The Master of Simulation & Immersive Technologies will equip you to become a future-ready design leader. You’ll graduate capable of understanding and meeting the growing demand for immersive practices across many industries.

This program offers a unique human-centric and design-led approach to technologies and focuses on human perception and experience. You’ll learn how, why, when and where to effectively utilise simulation and immersive platforms, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) and extended reality (XR). The type of engineer you’ll become often depends on the specialisation you choose in this degree. This degree offers 19 engineering specialisations across different engineering disciplines.

In this degree you’ll gain a solid background in mathematics, natural sciences and computing that’ll prepare you to learn knowledge and skills in an engineering discipline. You’ll graduate with the technical knowledge, skills and attributes required to succeed as a professional engineer.

This double degree combines specialised knowledge in Engineering with the variety of possibilities available in an Arts degree. The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) will provide you with a solid background in mathematics, natural sciences and computing to give you knowledge and skills in whichever engineering discipline specialisation you choose.

In the Arts component, you’ll choose a major from a range of disciplines within the humanities and social sciences, including languages, arts, history, philosophy and business. Biotechnology takes our understanding of cell biology and chemistry to create a range of products and solutions to problems in medicine, food and energy. The Bachelor of Biotechnology (Honours) includes fundamental teaching in the life sciences, explores current trends and issues in the industry and tackles key focus areas including synthetic biology, bioprocessing, medical applications and commercialisation. It also incorporates a research-based honours year, providing you with greater experience and confidence in the practice of scientific methods.

• At UNSW Science, we focus on delivering the optimal balance of theory and practical work to equip you with the skills and experience to fast-track your career. The SCIF3199 Science Work Placement course gives you the opportunity to gain practical work experience through an internship. Previous work placement students have interned with IT companies, start-ups, government departments and large biomedical and biotechnology companies. Along with new professional skills and connections, you’ll also gain course credit for your work placement.

• The SCIF2041 Research Internship course gives you the opportunity to complete a short theoretical or experimental research project in a world-leading research team supervised by a member of academic staff. Internships may also involve a placement outside of UNSW, in the form of externally funded research programs.

Dietetics is an allied health profession that applies the science of food and nutrition to optimise health, treat illnesses and prevent the onset of chronic diseases. A dietitian can help people manage health conditions such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, gastrointestinal diseases, obesity and food allergies. 

Food innovation examines all aspects of the food value chain from agriculture, food technology, food manufacturing and the retail sector, through to innovations and digital technologies. It looks at how we can improve the food system to address current and future food equity and sustainability challenges.

Telecommunications are responsible for a range of services used on a daily basis including landline and mobile phone services, internet and pay television. The widespread adaptation of high-speed digital transmission methods like fibre optic cabling and mobile telecommunications has resulted in significant changes in the industry.  

Telecommunications Engineers design, develop and maintain all aspects of voice and data communications systems. They work on the theory and application of a broad range of systems such as telephone and data networks, radio and TV, satellites and deep space applications. To get you work ready, you'll apply these skills through 60 days of approved industry training.

This degree is designed for students who are passionate about both the Law and Science, and are interested in learning about the connection between the two.

The Law degree aims to develop graduates who have excellent analytical skills, a capacity for scholarly research, effective oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to personal and professional development, ethical practice and social responsibility.
