Public relations & advertising
Discover the strategies and tactics of persuasion that underpin influential communications. Whether it’s damage control during a crisis or building brands through social media campaigns, you’ll find the practical skills, knowledge and experience needed for an exciting career.

Through a flexible set of courses, you’ll develop strategic skills and expertise in fields such as creative advertising, activism, branding, crisis communications, and political communications. The UNSW Master of Engineering Science in Petroleum Engineering is a two-year postgraduate degree in the School of Minerals and Energy Resource Engineering. You’ll gain the accreditation for a career in petroleum engineering, the oil and gas industry and other related sectors.  

You’ll explore a broad range of areas related to employment in petroleum engineering including:

•     Reservoir engineering
•     Geophysics
•     Drilling engineering
•     Fluid mechanics

If you come from a general engineering background and want to transition into a specialised role, the petroleum engineering specialisation will help you get there. The degree is also designed for anyone working in the industry and wanting to deepen their knowledge and experience.  

As part of an internationally renowned Engineering faculty, you’ll prepare yourself for the workplaces of the future in oil, gas and mining. You’ll learn to look for hands-on solutions, applying established engineering methods to complex industrial challenges.

The Master of Health Leadership and Management (Extension) provides you with advanced disciplinary knowledge and capacities for tackling challenging senior managerial roles in health services in Australia or internationally. The Bachelor of Criminology & Criminal Justice/Law is a five-year double degree that will provide you with the opportunity to gain valuable qualifications of professional importance to the public sector, criminal justice system, community service, business and legal practice.

In this degree, you’ll develop excellent analytical skills, a capacity for scholarly research, effective oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to personal and professional development, ethical practice and social responsibility. Pairing your study of Law with Criminology & Criminal Justice will allow you to develop an understanding of historical and current issues, including drug policy, sexual and alcohol-related violence, organised crime and Indigenous mass incarceration, from different perspectives. You'll learn about key criminal justice institutions including the police, courts and prison, and their impact on the community.

This double degree in mathematics and computer studies makes a valuable combination. While the advanced mathematics (honours) degree focuses on in-depth understanding of pure and applied mathematics, the computer science degree looks at the design, construction and uses of computer systems.

UNSW offers mathematics students advanced facilities combined with innovative teaching. Your mathematics studies will assist with the manipulation of data as well as the development of algorithms in computer science. The advanced mathematics component involves advanced coursework with an honours-level research project.

There are more than seven computer science majors to choose from, including artificial intelligence, database systems, e-commerce, embedded systems, networks, programming languages and security.
