Film studies
Film helps us understand the world around us. The Master of Finance is a specialist degree for graduates who have completed a finance major in their undergraduate studies and now want to take on more advanced topics. It has been developed in close consultation with the finance sector and exposes you to the latest thinking and research in finance.

Medical science is the foundation that the practice of medicine is built on. This degree delves into how the human body functions and responds to disease and drug treatments. It incorporates facets of several scientific disciplines to provide you with an extensive understanding of the human body.

Molecular Biology

Molecular Biology is a marriage of biochemistry, microbiology and cell biology. It will have an increasingly important role to play in many aspects of modern medicine, genetics, evolutionary biology, bioinformatics, biotechnology and genomics.

Combine your interest in mathematics with engineering. Choose from a wide range of engineering specialisations, from traditional disciplines such as civil engineering and electrical engineering, through to those tailored to modern challenges, such as renewable energy engineering. Pairing this with the advanced mathematics degree allows you to gain a deep understanding of the mathematics and statistics that underpin all engineering. In this double degree, you will have access to advanced facilities combined with innovative teaching.

The engineering degree is designed to equip you for a career as a professional engineer, where you will get the chance to apply yourself to engineering design and enquiry projects, professional engineering practice, engineering and technical management, and research. The advanced mathematics component involves advanced coursework with an honours-level research project.

The Master of Simulation & Immersive Technologies will equip you to become a future-ready design leader. You’ll graduate capable of understanding and meeting the growing demand for immersive practices across many industries.

This program offers a unique human-centric and design-led approach to technologies and focuses on human perception and experience. You’ll learn how, why, when and where to effectively utilise simulation and immersive platforms, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) and extended reality (XR). This degree is designed to accommodate the needs of busy professionals from a wide range of backgrounds. You will choose to study fully online, or in blended mode with part-time and full-time options available. In blended mode, you will study core courses online and attend two intensive face-to-face meetups per year on-campus or at our industry partner facilities. You will also have full access to all campus facilities throughout your study.

From data management to biostatistics, finance to environmental modelling, our advanced-level mathematics degree will prepare you for a wide range of careers. Mathematics and statistics graduates can work across many industries, wherever logical skill and analysis of quantitative data is needed to provide accurate and timely answers.

The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) consists of a year-long major independent research project (completed under the guidance of an academic supervisor), and a thesis based on the project. In addition, you'll complete advanced core and elective coursework.

The research project may be undertaken in most areas of psychology, such as:

• Psychopathology
• Behavioural neuroscience
• Cognitive science
• Cognition and perception
• Forensic psychology
• social, personality and developmental psychology.

The coursework requirement includes content that encompasses history, professional ethics, evidence-based practice and advanced coverage of selected contemporary issues in psychology.

This degree also provides an academic foundation for you to continue on to a master's by coursework, a master's by research or a PhD.

Screen Production (Major)
Specialising in Screen Production for your Bachelor of Media at UNSW equips you with the skills, knowledge, and capabilities to pursue a creative career in media production. As you practice, you’ll build a portfolio of audio-visual work to leverage professionally.

You’ll have access to advanced multimedia labs, editing suites, digital video production and post-production facilities, and animation and audio production studios. You’ll learn using industry-standard video cameras, audio recorders, microphones, lights, dollies and gimbals, and advanced editing software. These facilities include our unique Esme Timbery Creative Practice Lab, which has a computer-controlled system for the perfect performance environment.

As a UNSW Media student, you have the option to enrol in a work-integrated learning course and gain credit points towards your degree. We offer a range of internship and placement opportunities, so you can put theory into practice and gain valuable professional experience.
