Business Analytics Specialisation

Business analytics is about using data insights to analyse all things related to business. With the increasing impact and influence of big data on business operations, the demand for analytics professionals is strong, and continues to grow.

Why study business analytics?
You'll learn to source, analyse, and apply data insights, giving you skills that can be applied to a diverse range of industries. With statistical modelling, programming and database management, this major has an emphasis on the ethical and legal issues of data governance so you’ll walk away with a holistic framework to span the bridge between business problem owners and technical experts.

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree allows high-performing students to deepen their knowledge of approaches, perspectives and traditions in their chosen scientific discipline and undertake a significant research project.

There are 29 specialisations available covering a wide and diverse range of disciplines, from biology, chemistry and physics to aviation, geology and statistics. As a result of the variety of options that can be chosen across the Faculty, the proportion of research-based work and coursework will differ by School.

In addition to conducting research and coursework, you will generally also be expected to attend and present seminars, write a literature review write a thesis and undertake Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) training. This degree also provides an academic foundation for you to continue on to a masters by research or a PhD.

The UNSW Master of International Relations recognises the complexity and the globalised nature of today’s world, and is specifically designed to advance your understanding of global politics and foreign policy.  Through this degree, you’ll critically examine theories and issues in contemporary world politics. You’ll explore international security, great-power rivalry, regional conflicts, nuclear proliferation, global environmental politics, civil conflict and terrorism, human rights, gender politics, international political economy, development and other pressing international issues.

Alongside this, you’ll learn to understand how these concepts and theories in international relations shape our view of the world. The UNSW Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education (Secondary) is a four-year, full-time (or part-time equivalent) double degree that provides you with the skills to pursue a career in secondary-school teaching, specialising in science and mathematics. After completing the degree, you’ll have a professional teaching qualification as well as a flagship science degree from our science faculty, UNSW Science.

The Master of Global Health and Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence double degree is an innovative approach to postgraduate health education. It enables you to better understand infectious diseases in the era of new and emerging disease threats as well as management approaches for the identification, assessment, prevention and control of infectious diseases.

This combination fosters a sophisticated understanding across a complex body of multidisciplinary knowledge including infectious diseases intelligence, policy design, implementation and evaluation.
