UNSW’s Bachelor of Commerce/Arts is a double degree that will equip you with business experience and expertise, combined with the creativity, analytical and critical thinking skills that come with an arts degree. The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) has been designed with consultation from industry to set you up for lifelong employability. By combining your BCom with a Bachelor of Arts, you can choose from a diverse range of majors and subjects in the arts, humanities and social sciences. You'll develop an in-depth knowledge and breadth of understanding, gaining the tools to think critically, communicate effectively and conduct independent research.

The UNSW Master of Public Policy and Governance is a two-year full-time postgraduate degree, that applies a social science perspective to real-world questions of policy, research and management in modern organisations. Through this master’s degree, you’ll prepare for roles that require research and analytical skills, and a practical appreciation of the processes of policymaking, policy analysis, and policy implementation.

This degree helps you to develop the skills and perspectives needed for the assessment, evaluation, and sensitivity of public policy. You’ll explore the impacts research, public policy and governance have on clients, customers and the public.

Statistics is a rapidly evolving science, with technological advances presenting exciting new opportunities for collection and analysis of large and complex data sets. This degree – the longest running program of its kind in Australia - provides advanced training for current and aspiring statisticians. 

Strengthen your knowledge of statistical science and develop your consulting and project writing skills. The UNSW Master of Statistics covers a wide range of statistical theory and practice and provides advanced training in the principles of mathematics and statistical analysis. 

This program is also suitable for students who are currently or aspiring to become practicing statisticians, with the opportunity to learn in-depth applications of statistics in areas such as finance, engineering or medical and biological science. The program also provides?the necessary preparation for further research in statistics.? 

This double degree is for engineers in the fields of physical metallurgy, materials engineering, ceramic engineering or process metallurgy who want to become skilled in technical management and more aware of the economic and social aspects of the engineering profession. The Materials Science component teaches you theoretical and practical skills that will put you at the forefront of innovation in developing materials that are lighter, greener and stronger. The Commerce component provides you with a fundamental understanding of general business principles and allows you to develop specialist knowledge in a business area of your choice. The UNSW Master of Interpreting is a 1.7 year full-time postgraduate degree that gives you practical experience in professional settings, alongside skills and theoretical foundations based on current research. Learn from leading interpreting and linguistics practitioners and researchers to prepare a successful career and open up opportunities in a variety of industries, both in Australia and overseas. This degree prepares you for National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) certification.

Criminal Justice and Criminology
Crime and criminal justice are matters of pressing public concern and considerable controversy. Newly emerging problems offer challenges and require rethinking conventional understandings of criminology and criminal justice. Innovative technologies and justice practices may offer advantages and threats to due process and the integrity of the criminal justice system.  

The Criminal Justice and Criminology specialisation in the Master of Laws will provide you with advanced interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to research and analyse current debates, emerging problems, and new criminal law and criminal justice developments. The specialisation draws on the recognised expertise of UNSW in research and teaching of criminal justice and criminology, criminal law and procedure. You can also choose courses dealing with transnational developments, international criminal law and human rights, and the rapidly evolving sub-discipline of state crime.

The UNSW Master of Engineering Science (Nuclear Engineering) is designed for students who want to understand nuclear concepts that form the foundation of our universe. Through this degree you’ll develop the skills to apply these concepts to a variety of industries today and the technologies of the future. This postgraduate degree teaches you the underpinning theory behind nuclear engineering techniques, technologies and processes.

Data science is playing an increasingly important and controversial role in legal practice and the legal system more broadly. However, the number of lawyers with expertise in data analysis or machine learning is small.

This has implications for the delivery of justice as inappropriate methods are often employed by those who do lack sufficient knowledge of the legal domain. However, it also creates opportunities for those with dual expertise to find better ways to use data science to enhance access to justice, increase rates of settlement, and improve the efficiency of legal practice and the broader legal system.

Data Science and Decisions/Law is jointly offered by UNSW Law and Justice and UNSW Science.

The Master of Engineering is a flexible postgraduate degree delivered by UNSW Engineering, Australia’s leading engineering faculty. It's designed for students who require an accredited engineering qualification.
