What you'll learn

Emerging materials, processing technologies and sustainability are key focuses of this graduate diploma. You will also develop an advanced understanding of industrial design and graduate with the ability to develop and design physical products, systems, interfaces, and environments for cultural and economic exchange. You will also develop:

• high-level technical skills needed for digital prototyping and the development of 3D design

• the ability to use knowledge of existing and emerging materials and processing technologies for high and low volume manufacturing

• the ability to work through complex industrial design problems

• cognitive skills needed to review and analyse research

In your law studies you can undertake a Community Justice Project, practice advocacy and negotiation, or gain industry experience through participation in our Legal Advice Clinic or a professional placement. You’ll also be involved in mock-trials in our moot court, learning what it’s like to act as an advocate and argue a case before a judge. 

In your arts studies you will explore the global contexts of politics and history which includes Australia’s role domestically, and within the broader currents, of regional and global politics. The expertise you gain in your arts major, in addition to your law studies, will further improve your employment prospects. Our lecturers are world-class researchers1 and under their guidance you will also develop strong skills in analysis, advanced writing, communication, and research and problem solving.

What you'll learn

This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in arts. 

Laws (Honours)
As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy. You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

You will have the opportunity to complete your GDLP in your final year of study and practical learning experiences, including mooting, negotiation, and witness examination. You will also engage in a Community Justice project, high-level research or an industry placement, ensuring you’ll be prepared for legal practice upon graduation.

Arts (History and Global Politics)
The History and Global Politics major will illuminate the patterns and processes that have shaped our societies over time and help you analyse and predict events in our contemporary world. You will study areas such as:

• The politics of environmental change in Australia and Asia
• World history trends and transformations
• Australia in the Asian Century
• Marginalisation in world affairs
• Power and resistance
• The US in world affairs

What you'll learn

The two year program comprises 16 courses including 4 electives and an industry placement/project.  You will start with seven core courses common to all specialisations in the IMBA.  Through these you will develop advanced skills and expertise in areas of international management including:

• Global business environment
• People leadership and performance
• Economic principles for business
• Fundamentals of data analytics

This hands-on postgraduate qualification will equip you with an advanced understanding of the innovative, changing world of design. You will study emerging trends and technologies, contemporary design issues, construction challenges and management.   

With a strong focus on construction challenges, design principles and client considerations, you will build on your previously acquired knowledge and skill set.  

In addition to fundamental practical skills, a key part of your learning will relate to advanced research skills and you will graduate with the cognitive skills needed to review and analyse research. You will also complete an industry placement as part of your studies.

You will also develop design proposals, foster client relations, survey building sites, develop research methodologies, and undertake a substantial research-based project.

The first year will include design research studio classes, a specialized design communication course, an introduction to sustainable design, research methods, business practices, and a choice of electives.

The Master of Management (Advertising and Brand Management) will help you develop an advanced understanding of business and management, and graduate with the capabilities to be a successful leader and decision-maker in any business setting.

The psychology component of your studies will cover areas such as developmental psychology; cognitive psychology; psychological assessment and research; counselling skills; and work and organisational psychology. You'll also study specialist human resource management topics such as organisational behaviour, performance and compensation management, training and development, industrial relations, and occupational health and safety. 

A specialised degree in legal studies will prepare you for a business career in the private, public or legal sectors.
