What you'll learn

This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in economics, finance and trade. 

Laws (Honours)
As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy. You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

You will have the opportunity to have practical learning experiences including mooting, negotiation, and witness examination. You will also engage in a Community Justice project, high-level research or an industry placement, ensuring you’ll be prepared for legal practise upon graduation.

This program is recognised as an approved program by Financial Adviser Standards, The Treasury1. and will equip you with the education requirements to practise as a qualified financial adviser.

What you'll learn

This program consists of 16 advanced financial planning courses, which you can complete in 1.5-2 years of full-time study (or part-time equivalent). Your qualification will complement your industry experience and advance your knowledge in specialist areas such as investment management, estate planning, superannuation, and tax. You’ll study compulsory bridging courses that have been outlined in Treasury's education requirements including ethics and professionalism, and financial advice regulatory and legal obligations. As a graduate, you can be confident you’ll leave with the essential education requirements to practise as a qualified financial adviser.

A master’s degree is an opportunity to sharpen your technical ability, legal knowledge and professional expertise. Aside from learning new and relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice, you’ll also enhance your skills in building and managing client relationships – a critical focus area for future financial advisers.

A specialised degree in legal studies will prepare you for a business career in the private, public or legal sectors.

The degree starts with core courses in business theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals such as international business, economics and accounting and intelligence.

You’ll then branch out into your legal studies specialisation where you’ll focus on areas such as the foundations of law and public law; torts and contracts. The Master of Information Technology (Cyber Security) aims to develop cyber security professionals with advanced knowledge in cyber security governance, risk and compliance (GRC). To ensure you graduate job-ready, significant consultation with industry has taken place to establish both the technical and non-technical expertise demanded by employers. In recent years, calls for cyber security professionals with a strong working-knowledge of GRC in complex organisational environments has significantly increased. As such, this program will build your professional proficiency, as well your ability to examine and implement a range of technology-based cyber security defences to address emerging threats and attacks.

The Master of Information Technology (Cyber Security) has been designed to develop foundational, discipline specific knowledge in IT in your first semester of study.   • build your own degree by completing two minors (usually eight courses)) across a range of different study areas
  • undertake a one-year international exchange with Rennes School of Business in Brittany, France.

You will be immersed in real-world challenges and have access to practical-based electives including industry internships, simulation projects and our entrepreneur-based course Startup Studio, which teaches you how to bring a business concept to life. You will also benefit from other experience-based learning opportunities, including overseas study and business mentoring. This hands-on postgraduate qualification will equip you with an advanced understanding of the innovative, changing world of design. You will study emerging trends and technologies, contemporary design issues, construction challenges and management.   

With a strong focus on construction challenges, design principles and client considerations, you will build on your previously acquired knowledge and skill set.  

In addition to fundamental practical skills, a key part of your learning will relate to advanced research skills and you will graduate with the cognitive skills needed to review and analyse research. You will also complete an industry placement as part of your studies.
