By studying the Bachelor of Creative Industries, you’ll become professional, adaptable and creatively focused with multidisciplinary skills, allowing you to work in commercial contexts and settings, freelance as an independent artist or launch creative start-ups in your chosen field. 

This one-year Honours degree (or two years part-time) will introduce you to high-level research and help you develop the skills necessary to engage in rigorous research and analysis in your selected creative discipline. It can be used in preparation for postgraduate and PhD studies or research and leadership roles.

What you'll learn
You will learn skills necessary for conducting research in disciplines including Contemporary Art, Communication Design, Illustration Animation, Product Design, Cultural Studies, Film and Television, Journalism and Professional Writing, Communication and Media, Creative Writing, Social Media, Screen Studies and more. You will apply these skills to frame and develop your own research project, producing an outcome that responds to your research questions, project aims and objectives. Outcomes are visual and/or written, as appropriate for your disciplinary focus and project. Throughout your research studies you will be supervised by experienced research academics.

This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in accounting.

Laws (Honours)

As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy. You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

You will have the opportunity to have practical learning experiences including mooting, negotiation, and witness examination. You will also engage in a community justice project, high-level research or an industry placement, ensuring you’ll be prepared for legal practise upon graduation.

Accounting

You will study core courses in areas such as accounting and economic theory. These courses will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals. You will also learn the latest in specialist areas such as:

• Financial and management accounting
• Strategic financial analysis
• Sustainability accounting and reporting

In your law studies you can undertake a Community Justice Project, practice advocacy and negotiation, or gain industry experience through participation in our Legal Advice Clinic or a professional placement. You’ll also be involved in mock-trials in our moot court, learning what it’s like to act as an advocate and argue a case before a judge. 

In your arts studies you will explore the global contexts of politics and history which includes Australia’s role domestically, and within the broader currents, of regional and global politics. The expertise you gain in your arts major, in addition to your law studies, will further improve your employment prospects. Our lecturers are world-class researchers1 and under their guidance you will also develop strong skills in analysis, advanced writing, communication, and research and problem solving.

The History and Global Politics major will illuminate the patterns and processes that have shaped our societies over time and help you analyse and predict events in our contemporary world. You will study areas such as:

This degree will provide you with knowledge and skills in management and marketing systems for real estate practice.

You will gain an understanding of agency and property management, planning and property economics, as well as real estate law, investment and development for a career as a real estate agent or property manager in residential, commercial and industrial property.

You will also develop design proposals, foster client relations, survey building sites, develop research methodologies, and undertake a substantial research-based project.

The first year will include design research studio classes, a specialized design communication course, an introduction to sustainable design, research methods, business practices, and a choice of electives.

You will also develop writing skills for a range of platforms, including traditional media, social media and digital platforms.

You will:
