This hands-on postgraduate qualification will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of the innovative, changing world of communication design.

With a strong focus on adaptability and the importance of responding to changing design issues, you will gain advanced skills in areas such as web and print design, as well as emerging technologies and research processes.

In conjunction with industry, you will also be given the opportunity to work on creative projects, developing skills in writing project proposals and presenting information.

In addition to the necessary practical skills, a key part of your learning will relate to advanced research and you will graduate with the cognitive skills needed to review and analyse information.

What you'll learn
To be an effective communication designer you need to be able to identify problems and to examine and develop strategies and approaches to overcome them. This qualification addresses design issues that you may be faced with in the workplace.

You will also develop an advanced understanding of communication design principles and graduate with the ability to develop and design effective communications for a range of audiences. Cognitive skills needed to review and analyse research will also be developed.

In your law studies you can undertake a Community Justice Project, practice advocacy and negotiation, or gain industry experience through participation in our Legal Advice Clinic or a professional placement. You’ll also be involved in mock-trials in our moot court, learning what it’s like to act as an advocate and argue a case before a judge. 

In your psychology studies you will develop an in-depth understanding of human behaviour, social interactions and why people think the way they do. Courses are taught by world-class researchers1 in the field of psychology – in fact, the curriculum is informed by the research of our academics.

What you'll learn

This degree is made up of 40 courses. You will do 24 courses in law and 16 courses in psychology.

Laws (Honours)
As a UniSA Law student, you’ll gain valuable skills from day one, including in reasoning, reporting, analysis, negotiation, communication and advocacy.  You will also experience what it's like to argue a case and provide legal advice.

Throughout your degree you will study core courses that teach you the fundamental legal concepts that underpin the Australian legal system. Courses such as torts, contracts, criminal law and constitutional law will give you a good understanding of basic legal principles.

Our Law program also features courses that build your leadership skills, intercultural communication, project management and capacity for community engagement.

Psychology
In your psychology studies, you will develop a strong theoretical knowledge in the field as well as practical skills such as problem-solving, planning, judgement and decision-making.

This degree explores the intricacies of product design, further building on your existing knowledge and skill set. You will develop the tools and techniques to investigate and analyse human centred design problems and develop techniques to manage complex design projects. You will also develop knowledge and skills in design thinking principles and practices as they are applied to industrial design projects. Emerging materials and processing technologies will be covered, as will manufacturing, technical skills and 3D design.

What you'll learn
Human-centred research and design thinking processes, as applied to industrial design problems, are the core of your experience. You’ll use various techniques to investigate design problems, come to a deep understanding of the context, and then develop and implement innovative and appropriate solutions for the problem. Emerging materials, processing technologies and sustainability are also key focuses, and you will develop an advanced understanding of product design and graduate with the ability to develop and design:

• physical products
• systems
• interfaces

You will also acquire:

• high-level design thinking skills using a variety of methods and processes
• high-level technical skills needed for digital prototyping and the development of 3D design
• the ability to use knowledge of existing and emerging materials and processing technologies for high and low-volume manufacturing
• the ability to work through complex industrial design problems
• cognitive skills needed to review and analyse research

This degree will develop your knowledge of the global business environment and enable you to maximise your career development opportunities and employment prospects. Your studies will focus on international business strategy, international trade, global marketing, and employment law – the knowledge you will need to accelerate your career as a business professional in an international context.

The two year program comprises 16 courses, including 4 electives and an industry placement/project.  You will start with seven core courses common to all specialisations in the IMBA. Through these you will develop advanced skills and expertise in areas of international management including:

What you'll learn

Your undergraduate degree will begin with core courses in areas such as analytics, accounting and economic theory. These will give you a solid grasp of business fundamentals that you can apply to a range of careers. You’ll then branch out into your specialisation, and learn the latest in areas such as macroeconomics, economics of public policy and analysis; portfolio and fund management; and international currency and banking markets. You can also embark on an overseas study tour, undertake an industry placement, or work on an industry-related research project.

Your postgraduate studies will provide you the opportunity to sharpen your technical ability, legal knowledge and professional expertise.
