What you'll learn

During your degree you will complete a year-long project in a major industrial, scientific or commercial project in aviation, guided by an academic supervisor.

You will develop skills in literature search and review, research methodologies, experimental design, data analysis and research ethics, and have the opportunity to tailor your learning to your interest areas with guidance from your academic supervisor.

What you'll learn

You will commence your studies with an introduction to aviation, aviation management and safety. There are also courses in professional and technical communication, and human factors. You’ll even have the chance to spend a semester flying in our simulators to understand the pilot side of aviation.

What you'll learn

In first year you’ll study core sub jects in mathematics and IT. You will focus on building your mathematical and programming skills with courses that include calculus, statistical methods, algebra, and fundamentals of programming.

In Maths Clinic a team of students, supported by academic supervisors, works on a problem in close consultation with an industry partner. At least half of the honours year involves a major project. You will take the lead as an engineer in a project environment, working with industry, a government organisation, or an academic research area. There is also the option to do a full-semester internship in your honours year.

Civil and structural engineers are responsible for the infrastructure and resources that keep our cities, towns and rural areas functioning. They focus on the design and construction of buildings, bridges and other structural components of an infrastructure.

In this degree you’ll develop sophisticated skills in engineering research methods and project management which you will use on a major civil engineering design project, with industry representatives as your clients. You will also complete a master thesis.
