The Graduate Diploma in Aviation is a highly disciplined, technical flight training program at Parafield Airport. It is delivered in conjunction with the professional flight instructors at Flight Training Adelaide, our industry partner.

What you'll Learn

This diploma comprises seven courses delivered with our industry partner Flight Training Adelaide. You will study them at the same time as the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot).

As part of this diploma you will sit the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) theory exams. Your studies in the Bachelor of Aviation (Pilot) will help prepare you for these exams.

When you have developed the flight skills and knowledge – and passed the CASA theory exams – you can test for your Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and Command Instrument Rating (CIR) flight.

This two-year qualification is an introduction to university-level study and is a pathway towards UniSA’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degrees, with specialisations in civil, mechanical, mechatronics, electrical engineering and/or surveying.

You will be introduced to core concepts across civil, electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines, developing your understanding of each field.

What you'll learn

In first year you’ll study core sub jects in mathematics and IT. You will focus on building your mathematical and programming skills with courses that include calculus, statistical methods, algebra, and fundamentals of programming.

You will study multi-disciplinary areas such as mathematical modelling, data collection and analysis, applied probability, and the implementation of computer-driven solutions. You can also choose to study a minor in Information Technology or take electives from other natural sciences.

In your final year you’ll combine study and hands-on experience with the chance to take part in the Maths Clinic program. In Maths Clinic a team of students, supported by academic supervisors, works on a problem in close consultation with an industry partner. This will strengthen your abilities in research, analysis, interpretation of data, and communication.

This industry-relevant postgraduate qualification is for students who have already completed a three-year bachelor degree and would like to increase their employment prospects with a teaching qualification specialising in primary education.

The curriculum is practical in nature and is solely focused on the education of children from Reception to Year Seven. Practical learning is a major component and you will complete 60 days of professional experience placements, starting in the first year of study.

This industry-relevant degree is a four-year professional degree solely focused on teaching, that will equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to thrive as a contemporary educator in childcare, pre-school, and junior primary settings.

The curriculum is practical in nature and you will begin work placements during your first six months. This focus on industry experience will continue throughout your studies, and on graduation you will have completed 110 days of field-based placements. You will also develop an in-depth understanding of the principles and concepts relating to early childhood development and learning, as well as leadership and advocacy in matters relating to early childhood.

In the Master of Engineering (Engineering Management) program, you will learn the latest theories and professional skills related to engineering management and apply them to the core areas, covering project management, supply chain management, quality management, operation management and resource management. In the first year of the program students gain an appreciation of various operational aspects of managing the operations of an engineering organisation. This includes studies in areas such as total quality management, research data analysis, principles of project management, engineering economic analysis, sustainable development and design practice, intelligent production systems, and leadership with elective courses in energy and society, robotics and automation and human resource management, strategic procurement and others.

In the second year of the program students undertake more advanced studies which emphasise the strategic management of engineering operations. This includes consideration of issues relating to supply chain management, resource management, project planning con control, and operation management. The program provides an integrative management of these various strategic aspects of engineering operations.

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Mobile Application Development) will see you develop specialist expertise in the creation of software, with an emphasis on mobile applications and platforms.

What you'll learn

You will undertake general studies in aviation including an introduction to human factors and safety management systems. You will do Flight Training Theory 1 and 2, taught by instructors from the flight training provider. These courses prepare you for CASA Commercial Pilot Licence theory examinations.

As your studies progress, you will explore more advanced and theoretical areas including meteorology, law, human factors and aspects of the flight and performance of large aircraft systems. You will also study communication and aviation management. Your technical studies will include aerodynamics, heavy aircraft systems, navigation and risk and safety management.

Flight Experience is part of this degree. If you don’t take up Flight Experience, this course will be replaced by two electives.
