Recreational Therapy links leisure and health improvement. As a Recreational Therapy graduate you will work with patients to use leisure activities to improve health and life quality in rehabilitation centres, psychiatric subjects, special schools, day care centres, aged care facilities, schools, correctional centres, private practice and in a range of local government or community services settings.

Recreational Therapy combines theory and practice in learning, education programming, aged care, disability and mental health, with a comprehensive foundation in the health sciences. The recreational therapy program is offered on campus or fully online. This major provides hands-on experience, developing confidence and giving graduates an excellent foundation for careers in: teaching, research, biotechnology and industry. Throughout study, engagement with industry and community will inspire you to take action towards a regenerative and more environmentally sustainable AgriFood future. The flexibility of the course also enables students to combine their interest in AgriFood with other disciplines including animal science, data science, ecology, innovative foods, heath and business.

Speech pathology assesses and treats disorders of communication in areas such as speech, voice, language and swallowing in children and adults. Make a difference in the lives of others with the skills learned in this degree.The first two-years of the program combine evidence-based studies in speech pathology with a broad understanding of biomedical and health science, linguistics and psychology to develop the professional competencies essential for ethical and safe practice, high quality care and the skills to work in multidisciplinary teams. The final two years focus on the development of advanced knowledge in speech pathology and clinical practice, which are used during clinical placements to treat patients in the community.
