The Bachelor of Laws program satisfies the academic degree requirements for admission to practice as an Australian lawyer. Students will engage in collaborative face-to-face problem and case-based learning, will be supported by online learning materials, and will participate in authentic assessment to develop knowledge and skills.

The Bachelor of Laws provides students with a broad progressive legal education with a strong practical orientation to the law. Students develop skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, research, communication, collaboration, self-management, and ethical and professional awareness and judgement. Your studies will include practical experiments in building technology such as acoustics, heat flow through a building, corrosion of materials, concerete testing and more.

The skills you develop will then be used during your 1,200 hours of approved practical experience during the duration of the program.

Agrifood

Immersed in an approach that integrates social, economic and environmental values, students will view plant and animal production from consumer contexts to explore personal and community perceptions about food sustainability. Accounting major units focus on the fundamentals of financial and management accounting, as well as accounting information and corporate systems.

If you are seeking professional accreditation, you will also undertake specialised units in taxation and audit and assurance. The core units in the Bachelor of Business will provide you a foundation of business knowledge and develop your skills in innovation, career planning, and numeracy.

Accounting

Completion of this degree will allow students to claim a number of exemptions from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in obtaining the CIMA Professional Degree. The Honours program is available to high achieving students in the Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine. 

Podiatrists are best known for treating problems that people commonly experience with their feet, but they are increasingly playing an important role in addressing chronic conditions, such as diabetes. 

Honours is a key early step in the path to leadership in the profession and opens up the world of research, without taking any longer to complete the degree. The honours program encourages independent learning, develops research skills and provides an opportunity for deeper investigation in the major field of study.
As a high achieving student you may apply for entry into the Honours program in year 3 of your Bachelor degree. You then begin advanced research training in the latter half of year 3. Clinical placements and an honours thesis are completed during the fourth year of the program.

The thesis presents research that addresses real podiatric problems and education across the lifespan. This research will be conducted under the supervision of experienced academic researchers.

This double degree program allows you to span both the commercial and scientific worlds in a way that a single degree cannot.

Sport Management

The Sport Management major is designed for people who seek careers in Australian and international Sport management. Specialist units provide students with a capacity to understand and function within the increasingly dedicated context in which sport is played, organised and managed. Students who complete this major will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to manage sport experiences pertaining to globalisation and emerging contemporary issues in sport. Graduates find career employment at all levels of government as well as within the private sector for both commercial and non-commercial organisations. Positions include project management of facilities and events, management and coordination of leisure, sport and civic event departments, sport marketing, player management and sport public relations, elite sport development, sport and leisure programming.
