Environmental Health

The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the places we live, work and play all have major impacts on our health and well-being. The testamur major Environmental Health, when combined with the major Environmental Futures in a Bachelor of Science, will equip you to explore the diverse range of natural and built-environment challenges that confront us, from the mitigation of human health impacts of global climate change through to the more localised issues of air and water quality, waste management, food security, environmental noise and healthy communities. Marketing

This major introduces students to the core concepts of marketing theory, consumer behaviour, marketing communications, brand management, and marketing strategy. Graduates are equipped with the skills for marketing careers in a range of diverse industries across an international platform. This major satisfies the educational requirements for recognition as a Certified Practising Marketer and eligibility for membership of the Australian Marketing Institute.

This degree equips practitioners with the knowledge and professional competencies required for a career in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and herb dispensing.

Building a solid, broad understanding of biomedicine and various health science fields in this way will give you a deeper understanding of TCM and help you to work in interdisciplinary teams and centres and assist you in advising clients on treatment options.

To graduate with a Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, you will be required to complete all compulsory subjects. You will study core common subjects with other health science and allied health students.

In this program, you will share your new knowledge and experiences with other students and, together, gain professional competencies, important for ethical and safe practice and high-quality care. This double degree provides you with the practical skills and knowledge required to excel in the fields of both accounting and law. The Bachelor of Accounting degree will equip students to think creatively, apply innovative solutions to everyday problems, and the know-how to develop trusting, long-lasting business relationships.

The Bachelor of Laws program satisfies the academic degree requirements for admission to practice as an Australian lawyer. Students will engage in collaborative face-to-face problem and case-based learning, will be supported by online learning materials, and will participate in authentic assessment to develop knowledge and skills.

The Bachelor of Laws provides students with a broad progressive legal education with a strong practical orientation to the law. Students develop skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, research, communication, collaboration, self-management, and ethical and professional awareness and judgement. Students will also develop skills in legal advocacy, negotiation, and legal technology and extend their professional and learning experiences through work integrated learning, clinical placement and international exchange engagements.

In this program you will develop professional legal skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret legal material, understand fundamental legal principles, the relationship between law and society, and solve non-legal problems.You can tailor study for career paths in a variety of local and international law fields.

The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) is accredited with and satisfies the pre-admission educational requirements for membership of CPA Australia (CPA), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

Construction Management Studies at Western mixes work experience with study resulting in theoretical, practical and hands-on knowledge that is greatly valued in the construction industry. Your studies will include practical experiments in building technology such as acoustics, heat flow through a building, corrosion of materials, concerete testing and more.

The skills you develop will then be used during your 1,200 hours of approved practical experience during the duration of the program.
