Our Master of Science degree can be taken in a number of majors: Public Health Nutrition, Food Science, Greenhouse Horticulture or Agriculture. This program builds on your professional experience and/or prior degrees to develop advanced expertise and critical understanding in science and in these disciplines.

Public Health Nutrition

The Master of Science major in Public Health Nutrition is designed for human nutrition graduates seeking to further their career in public health and health promotion; working in a variety of settings, such as local, state or national health organisations, non-government organisations, population health subjectts, community health centres, and international aid agencies. Roles may include, health promotion officer, research and evaluation officer, monitoring and surveillance officer, and health policy officer. The program draws on and complements the Master of Public Health, providing an attractive postgraduate pathway for students with prior nutrition knowledge. This major build an integrated understanding of relevant aspects of community and public health nutrition and its interrelation with other relevant disciplines including, behavioural sciences and nutrition/health education, social sciences, economics, politics, food and nutrition systems, and public health systems. A capstone subject involving a public health nutrition research project allows students to integrate their knowledge and skills developed from the whole program and build on research skills that are scaffolded through the curriculum.

This double degree provides you with the practical skills and knowledge required to excel in the highly marketable career paths of both construction management and law. The Bachelor of Construction Management Studies will equip students to develop expertise essential to Construction and Project Managers, Building and Quantity Supervisors, Estimators, and Building Researchers which lead to professional accreditation.

The Bachelor of Laws program satisfies the academic degree requirements for admission to practice as an Australian lawyer. Subjects available in the Bachelor of Information and Communications Technology offer a solid foundation across several domains including Networking, Databases, Systems Analysis & Design, Programming, Web and Mobile Technologies, Project Management, Professional Communications, Operating Systems and Human Computer Interaction. The Bachelor of Laws provides students with a broad progressive legal education with a strong practical orientation to the law. Students develop skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, research, communication, collaboration, self-management, and ethical and professional awareness and judgement. Students will also develop skills in legal advocacy, negotiation, and legal technology and extend their professional and learning experiences through work integrated learning, clinical placement and international exchange engagements.

The Bachelor of Laws equips you with the professional legal skills and knowledge required by the Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB) for admission to legal practice in NSW, and to solve legal and non-legal problems. Students can undertake specialised study in topical local and international law.

Islamic Studies

Students engage in interdisciplinary study essential to an understanding of Islam, past and present. The area of study balances historical and modern Islamic studies and research methods.

One of the keys to Islamic Studies is ‘relevance’ to contemporary Australian society but relevance can only come from a sound comprehension of past traditions in Islamic scholarship and their socio-historical contexts.

Preparation for graduate study is also a key objective of this program, with its focus on developing critical and interdisciplinary research skills through a combination of approaches. Students are encouraged to undertake a minor in Arabic to complement the Islamic Studies major.

Anatomy and Physiology

The Anatomy and Physiology Major within the Bachelor of Medical Science will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the basic sciences underpinning human health, wellbeing and its application to human disease. This major provides a strong focus on the anatomy and physiology of the human body in relation to health and disease. Entertainmnent Computing

This major covers theories and technologies of big data with applications to information systems. Students completing this major will possess and apply the technical skills for managing large volumes and varieties of data in the information systems context.

This major will deal with a comprehensive focus on the technical and theoretical knowledge of design, development and deployment of software applications in the field of Entertainment Computing, including Games Technology and Database Design and Development.

This double degree program will allow you to combine your interest and expertise in science with a sophisticated understanding of international issues and systems. This will equip you to work in globalised science-based professions and industries.

You can design your own academic program within the Bachelor of Science program structure, which must include a Science major. This can be combined with an International Studies major in International Relations and Asian Studies.

Applied Physics

Incorporating units from Social Sciences and Health Sciences, this major explores contemporary frameworks for disability studies. Students will explore inclusive practices and evaluate the impact of social policy on the rights of persons with disabilities.
