It includes a core of courses at the first and second year levels in biology, earth science and chemistry, with a central theme of environmental science courses that provide a thread tying the other courses together. Focus areas in the four-year program may be designed to address your individual needs but can also be selected from ecology, conversation biology, environmental geoscience, environmental policy and sustainable development. The degree requires an intensive field course in environmental science and a thesis project for honours students. An award-winning co-op option is also available that lets you alternate work terms with study terms, meaning you can earn while you learn.

Our 2 Year Certificate of Applied Science completes the first 2 years of the accredited 4 year Engineering Degree, covering the first 23 courses of the 46 course Engineering Degree.  The CAS can be taken on its own or simultaneously with any program of study offered at Acadia including the BASc.

After completing the CAS at Acadia, and requesting a discipline placement, students are granted automatic acceptance into the 3rd year of the accredited Engineering degree programs at Dalhousie University.
