This program is offered as a combined major. Develop written and spoken competence in Italian and discover the rich and vast world of Italian culture.

A variety of language courses are offered from beginner to advanced, including translation theory and practice, Italian regionalism and language teaching.

We also offer courses in Italian literature, culture, cinema, art and architecture (some in English). You’ll be exposed to great writers, artists and filmmakers such as Dante, Petrarch, Machiavelli, Pirandello, Eco, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Fellini and Bertolucci.

Create a custom program for yourself. This program has been designed for individuals wishing to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue further undergraduate and graduate studies, or careers in the sciences in a personalized and flexible way.
You may complete your degree within the program or use it as a foundation to join another program of your choice in the health, life or natural sciences.
It is ideally suited to students who are looking for plenty of choice as they develop their study plan. It could include the specific combination of courses required for admission into graduate or professional studies or simply courses that best serve your personal goals and aspirations.

We’ll provide you with a comprehensive education encompassing sensory science, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, plant physiology and cell biology.

Your education will be enhanced by an opportunity to apply what you learn in the lecture hall with hands-on winemaking labs and viticulture field-work. Extracurricular lectures and events organized by Brock’s internationally renowned Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute (brocku.ca/ccovi) connect you with leading researchers in the field. Industry experience via our co-op program (brocku.ca/co-op) will also be an essential part of your education. At least one work term will be in a vineyard setting with another at a winery during harvest time. CCOVI is the only institute of its kind in Canada.

Co-op Education
The path to a successful career starts in one of Canada’s most diverse co-op programs. Co-op at Brock gives you the opportunity to apply what you learn in the classroom to real-world situations. Our students test their skills daily, gaining experience and an edge in a global economy.

These include post-secondary contexts and training and development in public and private sectors such as health care, human resources, business, community services and industry. Programs are offered on a part-time basis and may be completed entirely online. Adult Education programs do not lead to an Ontario Certificate of Qualification for the K-12 education sector.

Explore the world of interactive media, games and new models of content creation and delivery.

You’ll complete collaborative project work in interactive media while learning about related concepts and production methods.

Students interested in media design and creation can access courses in visual arts and theatre; those wanting to learn programming can choose options in applied computing; and those interested in the possibilities of narrative can pursue courses in English, Film and popular culture. Qualified fourth-year students participate in the program’s capstone production course, bringing together design, art, story, interaction and production in a fully developed interactive media product.

IASC students can choose to participate in internships to gain practical experience — learning from industry leaders and using cutting-edge technology in 3D modelling, motion capture, visual effects, live-action video and 3D printing.

Environmental geoscientists apply their unique understanding of the Earth’s composition, structure and physical processes to protect the environment and predict geologic and hydrologic hazards.

New geoscientists, trained in environmental disciplines, are required to meet environmental and resource management challenges. Current trends suggest that in North America, employment in the environmental geoscience disciplines will grow faster than the average for other occupations.

Brock’s program is designed to comply with the educational requirements for licensing as a geoscientist-in-training, the licensing classification that leads to the PGeo designation, established by the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario.

Labour Studies is an interdisciplinary field and is home to popular courses, including Labour of Sport, Labour and Employment Law, Animals at Work, and our simulation-based Collective Bargaining course.

You’ll find a mix of theoretical and applied courses designed to prepare you for a wide range of careers in labour and employment relations, workplace education and training, public policy and administration, and social justice and advocacy.

You may pursue a Labour Studies degree or a combined Labour Studies degree with a co- major in Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, Economics or Women’s and Gender Studies.

The CCES certificate prepares students for the rigours of post-secondary studies in the broad field of Education and related disciplines.

CCES provides a background in educational theory, Canadian educational context, and Canadian culture. Crucial skills required to be successful in Canadian post-secondary programs such as research skills, critical thinking skills, academic communication skills and problem-solving skills, are provided through an educational studies context. Opportunities for international students to improve their English language proficiency, increase their familiarity with Canadian cultural practices, and engage in Canadian communities are integrated into the program. Assistance with applying to advanced post-secondary programs is provided. The international student will be well-prepared to apply to, and succeed in, an academic program at a Canadian postsecondary institution.

The program centers on the biophysical establishment of human wellbeing, with courses in life structures, physiology, science, and science, notwithstanding the social parts of wellbeing. It incorporates propelled courses with research center segments in clinical the study of disease transmission, human immunology, restorative microbiology, parasitology, pharmacology, cardiology, and pathology. 

Abundant open doors for experiential learning exist inside the program at spots, for example, the Brock-Niagara Center for Health and Well-Being. 

Understudies will finish course work and have investigated openings in the cutting edge Cairns Family Health and Bioscience Research Complex at the University. 

This program has been produced for the individuals who need to proceed with concentrates in medication, dentistry, restoration or word related treatment, among others. Relevant Careers which can be pursued by the applicant are physician, Dentist, Optometrist, Pharmacist, health researcher.

We have some of the most advanced equipment in the field. While other schools often reserve the newest equipment exclusively for research, all of Brock’s facilities are used for both teaching and research.

Our commitment to hands-on learning makes our graduates, especially skilled and adept scientists. You’ll be a key partner in our research activities, participating in special research courses and paid summer research. You might even have the opportunity to co-author a publication.
