You’ll work with the very best faculty, artists and theatre professionals from Niagara, the GTA and beyond.

As part of the core, you will take courses that integrate theory and practice (praxis). These involve a mix of lectures and studio work that explore ways in which creativity and analysis are linked culturally and historically.

You may choose one of the following areas of concentration:

• Drama in Education and Applied Theatre explores theatre’s impact outside the traditional theatre space, including the ways drama and theatre activities enhance the learning process.
• Performance involves a core series of courses to actualize your potential as a stage actor.
• Production and Design prepares you for production work, crewing, design and other elements of technical theatre stagecraft.

The Department of Music offers superb performance and academic instruction, pristine facilities in the Walker School and a professional auditorium in the 300-seat recital hall at the adjacent FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre.

There are a wide range of courses in music history, theory, general musicianship, solo and ensemble performance, composition, conducting, music technology and music education.

The concentration in Music Education is the perfect lead into further studies in a Faculty of Education, school teaching, or for teaching privately in a studio setting.

The Music Therapy Foundations concentration is a kind of Music Therapy “pre-med,” and is excellent preparation for graduate studies and eventual certification in Music Therapy.

The Music Performance concentration (BMus only) is for performers of the highest calibre who aspire to go on to graduate studies in performance and an eventual career concertizing. Entry to this concentration is via a juried audition at the end of first year.

Applicants complete aural, keyboard and theory placement tests, and a scheduled interview. Students applying to the Bachelor of Music program, or taking lessons, will also be required to audition on a solo instrument or voice.

Combine your studies and blend the analytical tools of Economics with Political Science’s knowledge of governments and international institutions.

Economic forces drive many vital international issues such as trade, development, globalized investment and production. The key actors are governments and international institutions such as the World Trade Organization and the International Monetary Fund. Economic analysis investigates prices, tradeoffs and opportunity costs.

The international political analysis examines interests, rules and incentives. Issues studied include how economic activity and wealth are distributed, and the effect of governments on these.

Our programs combine academic study with unique practical experience in critical thinking and writing. Courses explore literature from Britain, the United States and Canada, as well as works written in English from all over the world.

Our English Language and Literature and English and Contemporary Culture programs introduce students to a wide range of literary forms, historical periods and theoretical approaches. They provide superb preparation for education and law degrees, careers in public relations and communications or graduate studies in Library Science and English.

The English and Creative Writing program uses lectures and practical workshop courses to examine the material and social contexts of creative writing and teach the craft of key literary genres.

The Writing, Rhetoric and Discourse Studies program combines practical and theoretical studies with instruction in a range of writing genres for students interested in communications, public relations, journalism and professional writing for organizations.

This exciting mathematics program is flexible, innovative and provides opportunities for students to work with leading researchers to gain academic and employment experience.

Choose from a broad range of courses or concentrations in pure mathematics (development of mathematical ideas and concepts for their own sake), applied mathematics (mathematics for applications in science, engineering, economics or business), statistics (experimental design, sampling methods and data analysis techniques), MICA (mathematics coupled with modern computer software applications) or mathematics education.

The Tecumseh Center for Aboriginal Research and Education offers a few alternatives for those keen on working in an indigenous teaching condition. 

The people group put together educational program model depends with respect to qualified Aboriginal teachers to encourage the instructive adventure. The Professional Masters Preparation Certificate (PMPC) is an eight-month preparation program that guides you through the challenges that you will encounter as an international student in a North American professional graduate school. We’ll help you improve your English language skills, gain confidence in academic situations and create a North American academic record. The PMPC is dedicated to helping you overcome foreseeable academic and cultural difficulties and acquire the understanding and skills to make the transition to graduate work smoother and ultimately more successful.

The PMPC is a formal certificate program. Students who successfully complete this program will receive a Brock University certificate. You will also be considered for conditional admission to either the MBA (ISP) or MPAcc (ISP) for the next intake when you apply.

The study of Political Science aims to teach students how to focus on the ideas, institutions and processes that shape our lives, helping them to become better members and effective leaders of the Canadian political community.

In Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics and International Relations, you’ll examine power relationships and the organization of power within and among states. The study of Public Policy asks how policies are made and implemented in the complex machinery of government. Political Theory/ Philosophy asks how power ought to be organized and to what end.
