Labour Studies is an interdisciplinary field and is home to popular courses, including Labour of Sport, Labour and Employment Law, Animals at Work, and our simulation-based Collective Bargaining course.
You’ll find a mix of theoretical and applied courses designed to prepare you for a wide range of careers in labour and employment relations, workplace education and training, public policy and administration, and social justice and advocacy.
You may pursue a Labour Studies degree or a combined Labour Studies degree with a co- major in Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, Economics or Women’s and Gender Studies.

Co-op Education
The path to a successful career starts in one of Canada’s most diverse co-op programs. Co-op at Brock gives you the opportunity to apply what you learn in the classroom to real-world situations. Our students test their skills daily, gaining experience and an edge in a global economy.

The Labour Studies Co-op program offers students a combination of rigorous training in academic theory and practical skills in an off-campus, work based setting. Co-op students gain an enriched understanding of their academic program through practical application. Students develop and refine employability skills, gain an understanding of career opportunities in their field, and gain an understanding of the realities of the workplace.

The Bachelor of Accounting Co-op program prepares the students to get a public accounting license for themselves. The students can gain up to twenty months of practical work experience toward their designations, and the successful completion of the program gets them a degree in Bachelor of Accounting (Honours). The BAcc Co-op program designation will be awarded to those students who have completed a minimum of 12 months of Co-op work experience.

This program aims to equip students with a sound theoretical basis for analyzing and practicing communication within the business environment. You may study how digital technologies impact human communication in our concentration in Digital Culture. Pursue one of our collaborative programs to complete both a degree and a diploma.

Biophysics is the physics of life, of all living systems and their interaction with their surroundings, both natural and artificial. It is a rapidly advancing field, encompassing a wide variety of areas in natural and life sciences.

Biophysics uses all methods of scientific inquiry — theory, experiment and large-scale computer simulation — to understand living systems at the molecular level.

Biophysics also forms the basis of many aspects of medical physics, another rapidly developing field in much demand right now.

Brock’s Biophysics program will provide you with a superb learning environment and exciting research opportunities. Extended research opportunities are available through Brock’s participation in the Biophysics Interdepartmental Group (BIG), based at the University of Guelph.

Are you interested in how children acquire language, how the skills of second-language speakers develop, how various language disorders can be diagnosed and treated, or how social or cultural environments interact with language?

Speech Language & Hearing Sciences: Learn about basic science and communication processes, including the anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing, acoustics, linguistics, child language development and selected disorders of human communication. Concentrate in Hearing Sciences and learn about sound, hearing, and hearing disorders, and prepare for admission to graduate audiology programs. Concentrate in Speech-Language Sciences and learn about speech, language, and speech and language disorders, and prepare for admission to speech-language pathology graduate programs.

The course is apt for students who wish to be a part of intensive clinical practice and train themselves as nurses. Brock University has been recognized by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) with a seven-year accreditation term for their commitment to providing excellence in nursing education. One can either complete all the four years at Brock or complete the first two at Loyalist College in Belleville, ON and then transfer to Brock for their third and fourth year.

This outstanding opportunity, allows you to combine your studies in Business at Goodman with an experience at the Lancaster University Management School in England, EBS Business School in Germany, ESB Reutlingen University in Germany, NEOMA Business School in France, or Dublin City University in Ireland. No matter which school you choose, your experience will include co-op work-terms in both Canada and the respective country.

You’ll study both at Brock and the partner school and receive two internationally recognized degrees. This co-op only program gives you the global perspective desirable in today’s economy and the work experience to back it up.

England: Lancaster University Management School (LUMS): Study for two years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at Lancaster University Management School in England.
France: NEOMA Business School (NBS): Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at NEOMA Business School in France. You will study in French at NEOMA — a minimum Grade 12 French is required for entry to this program, and French language courses must be completed at Brock in Year 2 of your program.
Germany: EBS Business School: Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and 1.5 years at EBS Business School in Germany. You will study in English at EBS; however, you will take German language courses at both schools so that you are prepared to work in a German work environment.
Germany: ESB Reutlingen University: Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at ESB Reutlingen in Germany. At ESB, you will study 50 per cent in German in Year 3 and 100 per cent in German in Year 4. You will study German language in years 1 and 2 to prepare.
Ireland: Dublin City University: Study for 2.5 years at the Goodman School of Business and two years at Dublin City University in Ireland.

Studies concentrate on various aspects of solid-state and materials research, from superconductors to soft-condensed matter systems. Our undergraduate students are involved in research — some have even published papers before graduation.
