The Business Administration – Accounting program blends traditional lectures with interactive student discussions, formal presentations, individual work, and practical case studies that model the real business world. The program balances an intense focus on accounting with a broad education in other areas of business by combining courses in financial accounting, managerial skills, finance, cost accounting systems, auditing, computerized accounting, and personal and corporate income taxation. A placement in semester six provides additional hands-on experience and opportunities for networking.

Fieldwork/Placement
All Business Administration-Accounting students participate in an unpaid, practical experience in the sixth semester. The placement is arranged by the coordinator of field placement, and students are formally evaluated by their employers. This exposure to the working world enables students to put into practice their recently obtained skills and knowledge.

The Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) provides individuals and companies with the opportunity to optimize their workflow, improve communications, and increase productivity in a global environment through the ability to connect smart devices with people, systems, and other applications in order to collect and share data.  The growing integration of IoT technologies in the home and workplace leads to a wide variety of job opportunities in the development, testing and deployment of IoT-connected devices.

As a Developmental Services Professional, students are embarking on a rewarding career supporting children and adults experiencing life with physical disabilities, developmental and intellectual disabilities and dual diagnosis. Students will learn how to effectively use a person centered approach and positive behaviour supports to support behavioural, emotional, mental, physical and social needs. Students will also learn about the stages of human development, spectrum of disabilities, modes of communication, basic nursing and medication administration competencies and the range of community supports.

In addition, students will learn the value of working within legislative frameworks as it relates to positive behaviour supports, person centered supports, educational supports, crisis management and the constructing of a safe, respectful and quality life. Students will develop advocacy skills through relationship building and the critical thinking skills required to support individuals who live life with physical disabilities, developmental and intellectual disabilities and dual diagnosis.

Learning will be complemented by extensive hands-on experience gained through Field Placement opportunities, beginning with a Field Placement block in semester two and continuing with placements in semesters three and four.

Students will acquire the following skills from this program:

• Communication skills using alternate modes of communication: sign language, braille and a picture exchange communication system
• Professional competencies and the development of core and threshold competencies
• Development of formal and informal person and student centered plans
• Development of positive behaviour supports and instructional strategies
• Understanding and supporting individuals across the diverse spectrum of disabilities
• Advocacy for independence, self-determination, inclusion, belonging and citizenship
• Development of competencies to work collaboratively with inter-professional teams, families and community professionals
• Knowledge of medications, medication administration and basic nursing skills
• Facilitation of employment opportunities and entrepreneurship

The Developmental Services Worker - Alternate Delivery Program allows students the flexibility and choice to attend virtual classes in real time or watch video lecture captures at a time that is convenient for them. All course evaluations, tests, assignments, projects, etc. can be completed on Cambrian's Learning Management System, Moodle.

Chemical engineering is a broad field that delves into all of these areas and more.

Cambrian's Chemical Engineering Technology program is the only one of its kind in Ontario and is designed to develop the skill sets you will need to work in any of these exciting fields. It couples fundamental theory with the necessary hands-on, practical laboratory training required for employment in various chemical industries and environmental sectors. You will work independently and in groups to build the self-directed study and team work skills you will need within various workplace settings.

Fieldwork/Placement
You are required to complete two co-operative work terms upon meeting the course pre-requisites. You may complete the two work placements during any of the non-academic semesters prior to graduation. These work terms provide you with the opportunity to apply classroom studies to an actual work situation.

This program of Diploma in Design and Visual Arts will enable you to set up a differed arrangement of work to be utilized for passage into the craftsmanship/structure industry or for section into cutting edge plan or compelling artwork recognition/degree programs.

In the primary year of the program, you will try different things with an assorted cross-area of style and media, including drawing, two-and three-dimensional plan, representation, visual depiction, website composition, computerized photography, and interactive media. This hands-on concentrated year enables you to investigate a wide scope of media, subject, and style to fortify your inventive and imaginative abilities.

In the subsequent year, you will choose a specialization in drawing/representation/painting, painting/blended (2D as well as 3D), printmaking/blended media, or advanced photography/sight and sound. You will be guided and coached all through these studio courses by rehearsing specialists, equipping your own undertaking based work towards a part of the arrangement.

Cambrian’s Global Business Management program is designed to prepare graduates from various educational and cultural backgrounds to perform managerial roles in global business organizations as well as domestic businesses who are engaged in cross-border business activities. This four-semester graduate certificate program delivers a curriculum that will give students an industry-focused skill set. The program covers all fundamental business functions, such as marketing, finance, organization behaviour, and business strategy in a global setting, to prepare graduates for general management roles in various industries across the globe. The program emphasizes leadership, critical analysis and problem solving, high-performance teamwork, business strategy, ?and managing in a cross-cultural environment.

Co-op Semester

• Students who have completed all courses with a CGPA of 2.0 or higher will be eligible for a 14-week minimum co-op.
• Students will also have an option to complete a capstone course in lieu of co-op if they choose do so.

A TSSA-registered, on-campus 2nd Class power plant. Curriculum that is endorsed by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). A unique program located in northern Ontario. Just a few of the reasons why Cambrian's Power Engineering Technician program is in high demand.

Over four semesters, you'll gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in all aspects of power plant operation and maintenance.  4th Class level in first year and at the 3rd Class level in second year. Theoretical concepts discussed in class are further explained and reinforced during practical experience in the College's Power Plant Training Facility.  This facility is where you will operate and maintain working equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Course subjects closely follow the Standardized Power Engineers Examination Committee (SOPEEC) syllabus and help prepare you to challenge the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) examinations required for 4th Class and 3rd Class certifications as an Operating Engineer. 

The program has been officially recognized and approved by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). This approval will grant a qualifying time reduction to you upon successful completion of the program. After successful completion of the first year of the program, you will complete an approved three month placement, which will enable you to obtain the necessary qualifying time for 4th Class certification. Students are responsible for completing the TSSA 4A and 4B testing requirements of the Operating Engineer certification.

With 4th Class Operating Engineering certification received, students can begin obtaining the 3rd Class qualifying time reduction offered in the second year in the Power Plant Training Facility.  Their academic studies continues with curriculum tailored to prepare for the 3rd Class examinations.

Fieldwork/Placement
After the first year, you will undertake an approved 3 month placement with an approved company or agency. This placement, when coupled with the qualifying time reduction granted to you upon successful completion of the program, will grant you the 12 month qualifying time required for 4th Class certification.

You will also develop a high level of skill in the operation of CNC equipment and the related software used to manufacture components through hands-on training on modern, complex machining equipment.
