This program of Diploma in Design and Visual Arts will enable you to set up a differed arrangement of work to be utilized for passage into the craftsmanship/structure industry or for section into cutting edge plan or compelling artwork recognition/degree programs.

In the primary year of the program, you will try different things with an assorted cross-area of style and media, including drawing, two-and three-dimensional plan, representation, visual depiction, website composition, computerized photography, and interactive media. This hands-on concentrated year enables you to investigate a wide scope of media, subject, and style to fortify your inventive and imaginative abilities.

In the subsequent year, you will choose a specialization in drawing/representation/painting, painting/blended (2D as well as 3D), printmaking/blended media, or advanced photography/sight and sound. You will be guided and coached all through these studio courses by rehearsing specialists, equipping your own undertaking based work towards a part of the arrangement.

Project Management has become a sought after skillset across industries as businesses and organizations continue to look for efficiencies and overall effectiveness in order to successfully compete in domestic and global markets. Cambrian College’s one-year (two semester) graduate certificate program will provide you with the essential theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and techniques to successfully plan, implement, manage and evaluate projects. As an authorized Cisco Systems Networking Academy and Microsoft IT Academy, Cambrian equips you with all the in-depth technical and customer service skills needed to manage and solve the networking, security, wireless access, and VoIP needs of support teams within organizations of all sizes.

Plus, you'll configure desktop and network operating systems, study programming languages, configure and manage both local and wide area networks, and learn network security from industry experts.

Fieldwork/Placement
A six-week placement in the sixth semester is part of the program of study.

As a Developmental Services Professional, students are embarking on a rewarding career supporting children and adults experiencing life with physical disabilities, developmental and intellectual disabilities and dual diagnosis. Students will learn how to effectively use a person centered approach and positive behaviour supports to support behavioural, emotional, mental, physical and social needs. Students will also learn about the stages of human development, spectrum of disabilities, modes of communication, basic nursing and medication administration competencies and the range of community supports.

In addition, students will learn the value of working within legislative frameworks as it relates to positive behaviour supports, person centered supports, educational supports, crisis management and the constructing of a safe, respectful and quality life. Students will develop advocacy skills through relationship building and the critical thinking skills required to support individuals who live life with physical disabilities, developmental and intellectual disabilities and dual diagnosis.

Learning will be complemented by extensive hands-on experience gained through Field Placement opportunities, beginning with a Field Placement block in semester two and continuing with placements in semesters three and four.

Students will acquire the following skills from this program:

• Communication skills using alternate modes of communication: sign language, braille and a picture exchange communication system
• Professional competencies and the development of core and threshold competencies
• Development of formal and informal person and student centered plans
• Development of positive behaviour supports and instructional strategies
• Understanding and supporting individuals across the diverse spectrum of disabilities
• Advocacy for independence, self-determination, inclusion, belonging and citizenship
• Development of competencies to work collaboratively with inter-professional teams, families and community professionals
• Knowledge of medications, medication administration and basic nursing skills
• Facilitation of employment opportunities and entrepreneurship

Learn to help vulnerable or at-risk individuals, families, and groups deal with various personal and social problems through engaging fieldwork and in-depth casework. As a Social Service Worker student, you'll learn to be an effective communicator and understanding counselor in order to encourage positive change in the lives of clients.

You will be challenged to bring a special level of maturity and motivation to your work, along with a commitment to work for social justice, a fundamental belief in the dignity and potential of people, and a desire to promote justice, equality, and access to culturally-appropriate services regardless of race, gender, age, religion, etc.

Cambrian's program is recognized by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, which allows you to apply to become a Registered Social Service Worker in Ontario when you graduate.

Fieldwork/Placement
Students who meet the requirements will have the opportunity to complete a community placement.  Students will be responsible for any expenses incurred related to placement, such as Paramed consultation, transportation, meals, and accommodations.

Agencies will require students to have additional medical and non-medical documents prior to the completion of any community-based placement.  Paramed will be responsible for the coordination of the required documentation in consultation with the students.

Required documentation includes:

• Criminal Records Check - Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Health documentation (up-to-date immunization, Two-step TB test, freedom for communicable disease)
• First Aid/CPR
• Field certifications - Bill 18 requirements

This is also in response to succession planning, a challenge that most organizations are facing these days as a quarter of the workforce, including managers, are planning retirement within the next five years.

In the program, you will take a series of carefully selected business courses that will build and enhance your skills in critical areas of management such as in accounting for non-financial managers; financial decision making; managerial economics; business ethics and corporate, social, responsibility; organizational behaviour and human resources management; managerial communications; marketing strategy; data analysis using Excel; business strategy; new venture creation; negotiation and leadership; and legal aspects of business.

Cambrian College's Supply Chain Management graduate certificate program provides you with expanded knowledge to address the demanding field of supply chain and logistics management.  In this program, you'll acquire the skills needed to effectively lead teams in order to convey strategies and execute plans to develop business success both locally and globally.

From automotive to aerospace to power, the possibilities for a rewarding career in mechanical engineering are endless. Take the biomedical industry for example, mechanical engineers can change lives by developing artificial limbs, pacemakers, robotic surgical equipment, and more.

If you’re interested in designing, testing, fabricating, or constructing various types of mechanical devices, then our Mechanical Engineering Technology program is for you.

You will learn how to use computer-aided design programs like AutoCAD and SolidWorks to develop mechanical components in 3D. You’ll then have opportunities to take your designs a step further by producing them in our machining labs.

Throughout the program you’ll also have unique opportunities to put your skills into practice by working on real community and applied research projects in labs that are equipped with state-of-the-art, advanced manufacturing equipment.

In your third year, you will expand your knowledge of design, quality assurance, and manufacturing process, as well as project management to ensure that you are career ready.

As a navigator, you'll help people make sense of complex systems that can be confusing and frustrating. You’ll work from a person-centred and strength-based lens to help people navigate health care, mental health, addictions, social welfare, law and justice, developmental and educational settings.
