Applied learning
The long history of Camosun's Hospitality Management program's success is due in large part to a strong applied learning philosophy. The time you spend in the program will provide you with opportunities to apply what you will learn in an academic setting and gain real life hands-on experience.
What to expect
Our program will give you a strong business foundation, cutting-edge hospitality courses and two work terms. This is all combined to provide you with the expertise and practical skills needed to pursue a supervisory or management career in the hotel and food service industry.
You will select your path after completing the first semester. One stream allows you to complete the program in two calendar years, the other option allows you to complete the program in approximately two and a half years.
Year 1:- In your first year, your courses include business communications, hotel operations, introduction to management and Canadian tourism.
Year 2:- In your second year, you'll build on your foundation knowledge, develop your leadership skills, learn about hospitality law and complete a second work term.

Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.
You can also work part-time on campus at your university.
Duration
Your part-time work permit will be valid for as long as you have a valid study permit.
20 Hours/Week
As a full-time student, you can work for a maximum of 20 hours a week. However, you can work full- time during holidays and breaks.

There is no maximum limit, and you can work for as many hours as you want on the full-time work permit.

Diploma in Interactive Media Developer (Optional Co-op or Internship Designation)
Develop your application from concept to production
Work locally and globally in application, game, or web development, graphic design, and user interaction.
Build Your Skills
If you’re artistically and technologically minded, the Interactive Media Developer (IMD) program will nurture your programming skills and artistic vision to take on creative and technical challenges.
You'll learn the skills you need to take an idea or a problem and develop it from concept to production. You’ll get the opportunity to write professional documentation, design and implement stories or games, and apply your knowledge to create you own interactive experiences. Optional work terms will complement your coursework with added hands-on experience.
A double-credentialed program
The one-year Interactive Media Developer Technician certificate program prepares you to work locally in the exciting world of software development. Possible careers include junior application or web developer, and junior graphic designer.
Continue your studies for another year, and you receive the Interactive Media Developer Technologist diploma. Graduates work as web, software, game or mobile app developers, and are prepared for work in quality assurance, visual effects, product management or product design/user experience.
What to expect
This technical, rigorous program is composed of a one-year full-time certificate and a subsequent one-year diploma. Both credentials can be completed with an internship designation.
As a full-time student in the Interactive Media Developer program, you will spend 25-30 hours in class each week with approximately five hours of homework every day, including weekends. Before you begin this program you should be comfortable with basic computing skills, word processing, and file management.
Year 1
In your first year, you'll develop strong foundational skills and knowledge in programming and application development, computer logic and algorithms, 3D modelling and animation, and project management.
Year 2
As you continue your studies toward the Diploma in Interactive Media Developer, you’ll develop skills in artificial intelligence, design visualization, augmented reality, human-computer interaction, and project management.

If English isn't your first language, these programs are for you.
Camosun offers courses in basic English language skills to get you started. More advanced courses prepare you for further studies at college or university, career programs and professional communication in the Canadian workplace. You can progress rapidly by taking ELD-Level 2 courses at the same time as other college courses. Graduates credit their studies at Camosun for academic success in later college and university programs.
Level 1: ELD level 1 courses are for beginning and pre-intermediate students who have a fundamental and developing knowledge of English. Emphasis is on development of speaking and listening skills with an introduction to reading comprehension and written composition.
Level 2: ELD level 2 courses focus on the development of advanced academic English language skills needed to gain entry into college-level programs or technical and professional English language skills needed in the Canadian workplace.

Advanced Certificate in Computer Network Electronics Technician (Internship or Co-op Optional)
The Computer Network Electronics Technician certificate program has a practical career-oriented approach, giving you the knowledge and hands-on experience you need to be able to install, repair, and maintain computers, servers, computer networks, and electronic systems.
Skills you'll gain
You don't need any previous knowledge of computers or electronics to enrol in this program. By the time you graduate, you'll possess a wide variety of skills, such as: installation and maintenance of computer networking systems; maintenance and repair of personal computers; maintenance and repair of server systems; analog and digital circuit assembly, installation, repair, and maintenance; installation, repair, and maintenance of microprocessor-based equipment; and technical sales support.
In addition, graduates of the Advanced Certificate will also have the skills to implement workstation security; install and maintain home automation systems; and configure and set up advanced servers.
Optional Co-op/Internship
The co-op or internship is an optional component of the program. It is paid work experience that can enable you to experience different employment fields and often leads to permanent employment.

University Transfer Studies
Choose from transfer courses in more than 30 different subject areas. These courses will transfer to at least one BC post-secondary institution.
Whether you want to take one or two courses at a time, or register for full-time studies with four or five courses each semester, the University Transfer program gives you the freedom to design your own timetable. Generally speaking, you'll probably start by taking 100-level courses (first-year) and follow up with corresponding 200-level (second-year) courses.
