This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate Program prepares graduates for a rewarding career in the field of Project Management. Project managers are in high demand across all industries. Graduates of the Project Management Graduate Certificate program will learn how to initiate, plan, monitor and control projects through to successful completion. They acquire the competencies to lead diverse project teams within a broad range of sectors in public, private and not-for-profit settings, while applying content-specific knowledge of their previous studies and experiences. Healthcare is a changing environment and nurses are needed to provide primary care where new trends in technology, pharmacology, nursing medical management are critical tools when working with clients presenting with acute complex pathologies. The Nursing Preparation Licensing Program (NLP) for Internationally Educated Nurses is designed to develop nursing expertise to work in the Ontario health care system. Emphasis is placed on the application and evaluation of advanced theories and practice in acute and chronic care settings within an interprofessional model of care as part of the health care team. Through classroom instruction, simulated labs and practicum placements, students will develop the necessary competencies to be eligible to practice in Ontario. Graduates of the program will be eligible to apply to write the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) jurisprudence and regulatory examinations to be accredited as a Registered Nurse within the Ontario’s Healthcare system.

Learning Outcomes

• Provide patient care in accordance with the Professional Standards for Registered Nurses in Ontario, using critical thinking to make decisions based on research and theory.
• Practice within the legal, ethical and professional scope of practice of nursing for a diverse client population in the province of Ontario as a member of the health care team.
• Use appropriate technology to contribute to safe, effective and efficient nursing practice
• Incorporate reflective practice into the nursing process to identify future implications for the role of a nurse in patient-centered practice.
• Communicate effectively, and in a culturally competent manner, with clients, peers and other members of the interprofessional health care team at the level required of a health care professional in a therapeutic context.

Students enrolled in the program will be learning about sustainable energy solutions, applied research, health and environment, environmental risk management and also the work placement. For two years students will be developing their skills and enhancing their knowledge in the area of environmental technology with the help of excellent faculty and practical as well as theoretical classes. 

Further on completing the program students may seek their career opportunities in the areas of energy sector, natural resources, government agencies and ministries, conservation authorities, private corporations, water agencies, and many others which are similar to the field.

Training culminates with a seven-week, pre-graduate placement experience working with a registered practical nurse. The film business is flourishing in Canada and there is a developing requirement for talented laborers in this unique and energizing field. Get familiar with the specialty of filmmaking utilizing the most recent advanced innovations. This program is designed for the business of today, where experts must have the option to see all parts of creation including cinematography, screenwriting, altering and coordinating. You will increase a strong establishment to make visual stories and graduate with the devices you have to enter this quickly changing and developing field. 

The program helps students to learn topics like scriptwriting, directing and producing, production design, art direction, picture and sound editing, working at heights certification, cinematography, lighting and camera movement, production processes and management, motion graphics and compositing. Consequently, when the program is successfully completed, students may look for a wide range of job opportunities likewise, film and television technician, directing and producing, documentary and commercial productions.

This 10-month intensive program is intended for graduates of university degree programs in the Humanities or Social Sciences or diploma programs in a related human services field. [Mental Health and Addictions, Child and Youth Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Nursing, Gerontology, Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Community and Justice Services or others to be determined by the Program Co-ordinator.]

Applicants must have completed 40 hours of direct experience with clients in a social agency. 

Following the eight-month in-class portion, students will have a two-month field placement opportunity in a community agency.
