Capilano University has a comprehensive program for international students called Early Childhood Care & Education Pathway which spans over a period of 1 year. This program is designed as a result of collaboration between English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program. This program is specially designed for students who study at the top two levels of the EAP program. 

This program is exclusively designed for international students in order to work with their English speaking skills and help them gain credentials. The Pathway program allows students to begin getting credit for an ECCE credential which is beneficial when they wish to take up further post-secondary education. Upon successful completion of the Pathway Program, you will have earned 9 credits you can apply toward your ECCE credential.

Capilano University has a four year bachelor of legal studies program that majors in paralegal studies and is a very up and coming course. This program deals effectively with the intersection of law and its implementation and their effects on each other. Students get to study the two subjects with respect to one another. Paralegal Study is a very significant field for in today’s world. The Diploma in Digital Visual Effects is a two year long undergraduate certificate program at Capilano University, School of Motion Picture Arts. The students of this program are trained and educated to design visual effects for films and television. International students and new permanent residents with an undergraduate degree completed outside of Canada can gain both North American business credentials and practical hands-on work experience in a North American organization.

This full-time program is offered in an accelerated format and includes a work placement practicum. Concentrations are available in marketing, human resources, international strategy & entrepreneurship and finance & investment.

Capilano University has an Associate of Science Degree program that is offered by the School of Arts & Science. Once students graduate from the AD program they can choose to continue their education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree and furthering their education. This program prepares students by providing them salubrious education in the field of science and providing them with the best kind of academic counseling.

Under the Associate of Science degree, students can gain valuable practical experience through an internship. This helps students gain professional experience and hence prepare them for the future. The Associate of Science program is a 60 credit points program and once students complete their degree they can transfer these credits and seek admission in a full-fledged program under several great British Columbia universities. 

The Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication is a four year long baccalaureate program offered by Capilano University. This program is specifically designed for students who wish to build a career in creative arts and communications. The Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education is a two year long baccalaureate program that deals with children, their care and education. The Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) Diploma gives students the required knowledge to work with children under the age of five in licensed preschools and childcare centres. The program is exclusively designed for students who wish to take a career up in the same field and is headed by a team of expert professionals who have been working in the field of childcare and education from a long time.

Once the student has successfully completed an ECCE diploma he/she is eligible to apply to the degree program. After finishing this diploma students are also eligible for the ECCE Registry for credentials such as ECCE Basic Certificate, Infant Toddler Certificate and Special Needs Certificate. 

Learning Outcomes

• Describe the motion picture production process and demonstrate an introductory understanding of the roles of producer, director, production designer, writer and various crew positions on the set.
• Successfully demonstrate at an entry level the scripting, development, production design, pre-production, production, post-production and delivery of short dramatic narrative independent films in a collaborative manner utilizing professional standard communication skills, protocols and techniques.
• Apply appropriate management practices and procedures including the computational, intuitive, creative and technical skills involved in screenplay development, breakdown, scheduling and budgeting for small-scale projects.
• Demonstrate keys to success, including attitude, teamwork, set etiquette, human/public relations, professional behaviour and self-marketing in the established and emerging motion picture industry sectors.
• Understand how aesthetic engagement can enable them to make cultural contributions through the effective use of media.

Capilano University offers a 2 year long baccalaureate degree in English called an Associate of Arts in English program. English is the most widely used language in the world and hence studying English can never go out of style and will always be professionally motivating. Studying literature does not only means employment in the world of academia but can also open multiple other professional doors such as creative writing, copywriting, fiction or nonfiction writing and other assorted jobs. 

Under this course students study literature and through the affluence of English literature we can have a better worldview. Literature offers us a culturally diverse perspective of the world and offer us a more historical, political and social context of events. Studying literature helps an individual develop and hone their preexisting skills such as reading, writing, critical thinking and higher level of understanding. 

Under the Associate of Arts Degree the students study all kinds of literature from modern to classics and contemporary works of literature for two years. Students have the opportunity to read various genres, expand their cultural horizons and know the world from an altogether different perspective. Associate of Arts Degree consist of a total of 60 university credits with a total of 18 credits in the first and second year English.

The Diploma in Indigenous Independent Digital Filmmaking at Capilano University is an undergraduate program which extends for a period of two years and is offered by the School of Motion Picture Arts.
