The Bachelor of Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) offers students a range of academic and education courses that blend theory and practice in the early years, engaging with research and theory.
Three core threads are intertwined throughout the degree: Curriculum, Childhoods, and Leadership and Advocacy. Students are invited to engage in critically reflective practice, working to create classrooms of social justice and equity for children and families.

Courses in the first two years meet the requirements of MCFD for:

• ECE Certificate to Practice
• Infant/Toddler Certificate to Practice, and/or
• Special Needs Certificate to Practice
• The ECCE degree is a pathway to elementary teacher education programs at SFU and UBC.

• Demonstrate pedagogical practices that are connected to contemporary theoretical approaches of learning, thinking and teaching in the field of early childhood care and education.
• Work collaboratively with children, families, colleagues and community to provide relevant and responsive caring and educational experiences.

The Diploma in Indigenous Independent Digital Filmmaking at Capilano University is an undergraduate program which extends for a period of two years and is offered by the School of Motion Picture Arts. The students who are interested in building a career in film and television production should take up this program. Capilano University has a comprehensive program for international students called Early Childhood Care & Education Pathway which spans over a period of 1 year. This program is designed as a result of collaboration between English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program. This program is specially designed for students who study at the top two levels of the EAP program. 

This program is exclusively designed for international students in order to work with their English speaking skills and help them gain credentials. The Pathway program allows students to begin getting credit for an ECCE credential which is beneficial when they wish to take up further post-secondary education. Upon successful completion of the Pathway Program, you will have earned 9 credits you can apply toward your ECCE credential.

Looking to explore a wide range of academic disciplines? The Academic Studies Diploma is a 60 credit credential. The diploma can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. Guided by their emerging areas of interest, students are invited to select their course of study from an extensive list of lower-level courses. Students can use their diploma credits towards further study at Capilano.

The Business Administration Certificate Program teaches students basic management skills that have practical value in a wide variety of jobs.

The program requires successful completion of one required business course, two specialty business courses and a choice of three business elective courses (three-credits each) chosen from the School of Business course offerings.

Credit from the certificate program can ladder into the Business Administration Diploma and/or the Bachelor of Business Administration.

The School of Legal Studies at Capilano University offers an undergraduate diploma in paralegal studies which spans over a period of two years. Growing career paths include exercise physiology, health promotion and leadership, sport science, personal training and more.

During the program, you’ll take courses in a variety of disciplines relating to health, including anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, leadership, health promotion, career and professional preparation, research methods and ethics.

Starting in your third year, you’ll choose your specialization: exercise science or health promotion. From here, you will expand your knowledge in advanced courses in your area of interest while being supported and mentored one-on-one by CapU’s expert faculty.

Build the specialized skills to work with children, youth and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

In the program, you'll train in many key areas, including behaviour principles, assessments and applications, supporting individuals with ASD and their families, assessment and intervention planning for children with ASD and using applied behaviour analysis with adults who have ASD and other developmental disabilities. 

The Rehabilitation Assistant program at Capilano University is offered by the School of Allied Health and is an undergraduate program that extends over a period of 2 years. The said program incorporates a number of important features which are to be followed by the students such as completing assigned tasks, use of appropriate language, time management, taking constructive feedback and inculcating practical skills necessary to fulfill the role of a rehabilitation assistant.

This is one of the few programs which combine occupational therapy, physiotherapy as well as speech/language audiology therapy. Rehab Assistants are mostly employed under acute care with the patients as well as at rehabilitation centres where the clients or patients need assistance in their day to day life. The age demographic of clients can be from infants to adolescents and can extend to elderly people. The triple-training provided in this unique program means you could be providing physical, cognitive, communication or psychosocial support.

The School of Motion Picture Arts at Capilano University offers students a comprehensive two yearlong undergraduate diploma in the field of 2D Animation & Visual Development. This program is modeled on the concepts of drawing, art, design and classical animation techniques. Students learn about the basic principles underlying animation and its techniques.
