This program is designed to develop the future managers and leaders in the global hospitality and tourism industries. You'll learn from award-winning faculty, training in key areas of Canadian and international tourism management, including revenue management, tourism planning and policy, service management, convention management, hotel operations, and cross-cultural tourism.

As part of this 16-month diploma, you'll participate in a 280-hour practicum (more information in Application Details), working in the hospitality area of your interest. Upon graduation, you may be eligible to apply for a three-year Post Graduate Work Permit.

The School of Legal Studies at Capilano University offers an undergraduate diploma in paralegal studies which spans over a period of two years. This diploma is designed to equip the learner with paralegal skills to enable him/her to use the legal system effectively.  Paralegals are engaged by lawyers and law firms to assist them in various ways such as legal research, drafting, interviewing the clients etc. Various rights based NGOs also employ them in their organizations which can also be a great career for them. 

In the Paralegal Studies Diploma offered at Capilano University graduates work at reputable law firms, multinational corporations and government agencies under the supervision of a lawyer performing interesting and rewarding substantive and procedural legal work. The Faculty of Business and Professional Studies at Capilano University offers this diploma and has a wide range of highly professional, expert faculty members who have ample experience in legal studies and practice and guide the students effectively. 

The Business Administration Certificate Program teaches students basic management skills that have practical value in a wide variety of jobs.

The program requires successful completion of one required business course, two specialty business courses and a choice of three business elective courses (three-credits each) chosen from the School of Business course offerings.

Credit from the certificate program can ladder into the Business Administration Diploma and/or the Bachelor of Business Administration.

The Bachelor of Performing Arts is a four year long baccalaureate program offered by the School of Performing Arts at Capilano University. The BPA program is co-administered by Capilano University as well as Douglas College and is one of a kind in the entire country. This is an interdisciplinary performing arts degree and is crucial in shaping the future of the artists of tomorrow. 

The main focus of the BPA program is to provide the students practical hands on training and a chance to see things go about in the real world. For anyone who wishes to become a professional performing artist this course is perfect. The various career options available after this degree are performing artist, event manager, arts manager, administrator or cultural entrepreneur. Through this program students gain substantial experience in the professional world thereby helping them gain opportunities for their future. 

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) offers students a range of academic and education courses that blend theory and practice in the early years, engaging with research and theory.
Three core threads are intertwined throughout the degree: Curriculum, Childhoods, and Leadership and Advocacy. Students are invited to engage in critically reflective practice, working to create classrooms of social justice and equity for children and families.

Courses in the first two years meet the requirements of MCFD for:

• ECE Certificate to Practice
• Infant/Toddler Certificate to Practice, and/or
• Special Needs Certificate to Practice
• The ECCE degree is a pathway to elementary teacher education programs at SFU and UBC.

The Bachelor of Motion Picture Arts is a baccalaureate program spanning for a length of four years and offered by the School of Motion Picture Arts. In this program, students are taught a number of things such as theoretical and technical knowledge about the field, development of critical skills, practical experiences with people from the industry and state of the art equipment for practical purposes. The Bosa Centre for Film and Animation is used for students to interact with professionals from the field of motion picture arts. 

In order to gain skills in different technical as well as creative departments students are taught a number of things by trained faculty members. Teamwork is also very significant for this program for students are required to do group projects in collaboration with fellow students. This way a student has the opportunity of learning and choosing from different areas of filmmaking. The up-to-date professional equipment that includes an 8000 sq. ft. sound stage, 3D camera rigs and a 3D editing lab open for students to use and work on. 

Build the specialized skills to work with children, youth and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

In the program, you'll train in many key areas, including behaviour principles, assessments and applications, supporting individuals with ASD and their families, assessment and intervention planning for children with ASD and using applied behaviour analysis with adults who have ASD and other developmental disabilities. 

Capilano University provides a diploma in Classical Music which spans for 24 months. This two year program offers students a wholesome and creative environment to nurture their potential. This program is a unified whole of theoretical, historical as well as performance studies. Students are taught a number of instruments such as piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and composition.

This two year diploma is a transferable program and students can get transferred to a Bachelor’s Degree in Music or a post graduate degree in Music Education and Liberal Arts. Many of the music diploma students transfer to the third year in Music Therapy program. Capilano University has an expert faculty and professional music teachers who guide students at every step of the way during the course.
 

The Diploma in Musical Theatre at Capilano University is a three year long baccalaureate program that is exclusively designed for the students who wish to take up performing arts as a career option. This course provides students with ample practical opportunities throughout the 6 term long program. Students will refine performance skills in acting, singing, dancing, screen acting, audition techniques, voice-over and learn the business side of the profession.

The Diploma in Musical Theatre has a number of great faculty members and professional performing artists who guide the students ate every step of the way.  Capilano has faculty from professional theatre, television and movie industry who have undergone vigorous training and practical experience. Students get the opportunity to work with professionals which provides them a better understanding of the degree and help them get hands on training.

Looking to explore a wide range of academic disciplines? The Academic Studies Diploma is a 60 credit credential. The diploma can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis. Guided by their emerging areas of interest, students are invited to select their course of study from an extensive list of lower-level courses. Students can use their diploma credits towards further study at Capilano.
