Employers are looking for environmentally responsible citizens who have a wide range of essential skills. The Environmental Studies certificate is designed to introduce you to those skills.

The Environmental Studies certificate is designed to allow you a degree of autonomy in your course selection. You will take a specific number of courses that deal with the environment along with options from a variety of subjects including geography, geology, anthropology and sociology.

This program is delivered in the classroom although a number of courses are also available online. Completion of the certificate may help you find employment in entry-level jobs or to move into further education to become more specialized.  We have transfer agreements with a number of Canadian universities. We recommend working with an Education Advisor when choosing courses for future transfer.

This certificate program is delivered in a combination of face-to-face and online courses and is is awarded to students who successfully complete the one year certificate curriculum, a total of 30 credits.

The program is designed to prepare you for a potential career in the field of criminal or social justice or to further post-secondary education such as a bachelor degree.

In the criminal and social justice diploma program, you will:

• Study theories of human and social behavior, criminal justice system and cultural and institutional roots of crime and deviance
• Learn about oppression and marginalization and will further their understanding of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous knowledge
• Develop effective skills in cross-cultural relations, communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
• Be provided opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills to further your post-secondary education or to prepare for a potential career within the field of criminal and social justice.

An education in the sciences opens the door to countless education and career opportunities. Get a kick-start on your Science education with an Associate of Science degree. Equivalent to the first two years of a Bachelor degree, you can save money with lower tuition and cost of living while completing the first half of your degree.

The two-year Practical Nursing diploma program taken face-to-face at the Cranbrook campus prepares you to give professional care to individuals and families in a variety of health care delivery settings.

College of the Rockies, Cranbrook offers its students a four year long bachelor of business administration program in Sustainable Business Practices that is specially curated for students who wish to work on responsible and sustainable initiative in a business environment. This program addresses a wide range of environmental and sustainability issue such social risk identification, strategies for improving performance, sustainability issues and personal effectiveness to instigate and lead change. This diploma allows students to study economics, accounting, general management and marketing and develop more specific knowledge in sustainable business practices.

Along with face to face lectures students are also taught through online and hybrid courses ad well as practical, hands on experiences in laboratories. This program works two ways, it provides employment after completion of the aforementioned program and this program also helps in maintaining a green economy which is beneficial for generations to come. Hospitality and Tourism are two really successful industries that have been growing incessantly over the years and hence a degree in the same can be really lucrative and beneficial for the students. College of the Rockies - Cranbrook Campus offers a two year undergraduate program in the field of Tourism Management. Students are provided with practical skills development, knowledge of hospitality and tourism sector, entrepreneurial skills and so on. The major themes underlying the diploma are sustainability, service management, entrepreneurship and cross cultural diversity including an Indigenous world-view.

 Tourism is a very lucrative and fun industry which is growing rapidly. The program helps students gain practical skills and helps them get a view of the professional world they will be stepping into. This course prepares the students gain success in tourism and hospitality sectors. Along with the industry specific work experience gained by the students they are also imparted academic knowledge and class counseling. Students can also use the knowledge and skills acquired in this program to transfer into a bachelor degree in tourism management at other post-secondary institutions as well as the College of the Rockies. 

You march to the beat of your own drum. You’re unique. You love to design, craft, form, and create. You are a Fine Arts student. A Fine Arts certificate can help you to develop your talents while also preparing you should you want to continue on to further education.

This two-semester program exposes you to a combination of drawing, painting, sculpture, creative writing, and an overview of art history. The Fine Arts certificate program provides the opportunity to explore your creative side. Students take required courses which give them an overview of history, philosophy and practice.

Some courses in the program introduce you to an overview of history, philosophy and practice while others let you explore and develop your talents in creative writing, acting, painting, drawing, or sculpture.

Our Dual Admission agreement with University of Lethbridge means you can complete the Fine Art certificate at the College, enjoying small class sizes and lower tuition, before moving directly into your guaranteed seat at University of Lethbridge in one of their Bachelor of Fine Arts programs.

Upon completion of the Marketing diploma, students can take advantage of block transfer agreements the College has with many other Canadian colleges and universities. Transfer is available to most Canadian post-secondary institutions on a case-by-case basis. Students can also enter directly into Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Sustainable Business Practices degree program at College of the Rockies.

Note: Upon successful completion of all Year 1 courses, you can graduate with a Business Management Certificate.
