The Associate of Science degree provides the student with the first two years of study towards a Bachelor of Science degree. The ASc, Environmental Studies, offers students an opportunity for cross-disciplinary studies in their areas of interest, particularly those that relate to the local and global environment.

Generally, students who earn an associate degree in Environmental Sciences will expect to transfer to university programs in Environmental Sciences. Those who complete the Biology core within their ASc should also be able to transfer into most Biology programs at Canadian universities. Students may also be able to take a directed studies course in Biology and become involved in an ongoing research project in Ecology. Some students may complete an associate degree in Environmental Sciences to pursue an academic career path. Others may use it to enter a more specific environmental technology program.

Financial Services is a two-year diploma program which opens the door to career opportunities in the financial services field, or prepares you to continue on to a Bachelor of Business Administration program. This program is also ideal for mid-career professionals looking to diversify their skillset.

This certificate program is delivered in a combination of face-to-face and online courses and is is awarded to students who successfully complete the one year certificate curriculum, a total of 30 credits.

The program is designed to prepare you for a potential career in the field of criminal or social justice or to further post-secondary education such as a bachelor degree.

In the criminal and social justice diploma program, you will:

• Study theories of human and social behavior, criminal justice system and cultural and institutional roots of crime and deviance
• Learn about oppression and marginalization and will further their understanding of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous knowledge
• Develop effective skills in cross-cultural relations, communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
• Be provided opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills to further your post-secondary education or to prepare for a potential career within the field of criminal and social justice.

College of the Rockies - Cranbrook Campus offers students a unique undergraduate diploma in the field of human kinetics or kinesiology. This two year long program provides professional training and clinical skill upgrading for current and future practitioners of Kinesiology. A number of important subjects pertaining to human kinetics are studies under this program such as assessment skills related to peripheral and spinal joints; exercise prescription for both healthy individuals and those with chronic disease; communication and leadership in the context of ergonomics and disability management; business, ethics, and risk management related to kinesiology. 

Along with the top notch facilities and equipment for the students, this program offers a practicum placement that helps students in gaining practical knowledge pertaining to the field and gain firsthand experience with the clients. The said program is headed by a team of highly professional, expert faculty members who have abundant experience in the field of kinesiology. 

As with all of our Business Management programs, the General Management diploma infuses sustainable business practice knowledge throughout your courses. Sustainability is a priority for many in today’s global business environment. Upon completion of the General Management diploma, students are eligible to take advantage of block transfer agreements the College has with many other Canadian colleges and universities. Transfer is available to most Canadian post-secondary institutions on a case-by-case basis. Students can also enter directly into Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Sustainable Business Practices degree program at College of the Rockies.

This major was developed for students who wish a high degree of flexibility in their course selection. As well as the required Business Management courses, students may select other specialized areas.

College of the Rockies - Cranbrook Campus provides undergraduate students a Diploma in Recreation Management which spans over a period of two years. Anyone who is interested in outdoor activities, tourism as well as community relationships, this diploma is perfect for them. Under this program students receive experiential and outdoor education. This diploma is a life changing experience for students who have the opportunity of combining their career and interests in the dame program.
 
The faculty at College of the Rockies has designed a comprehensive curriculum, classroom interaction activities, class tours and work field trips with well educated, expert faculty members at the helm of the program, guiding students at every step of the way. Students are allowed to engage in activities that sharpen their skill sets, fostering community building, studying the major theoretical concept and a positive attitude in order to build a bright future. The Recreation Management program helps prepare students to become leaders in the recreation and leisure services industry. This program opens up a number of professional doors for students such as event management experience, recreation programming simulation, inclusive recreation programming, job shadow assignments, guest speakers, volunteer assignments, site visits to recreation facilities and applied research.

Opt for the one-year certificate or add on another 10 months to earn the diploma. Both options provide credits toward a tourism degree and include classroom sturdy, lab work, field trip experiences and a six-week practicum.  No matter what option you choose, be ready for some serious fun.
