Overview
The Adventure Tourism and Business Operations (ATBO) program is ideal if you are passionate about adventure, sustainability, the environment and the outdoors and interested in working in the Adventure Tourism industry.
The name says it all. Get out of the classroom for some real, hands-on experience in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. This program is big on adventure but also focuses on those business skills you need to work in the tourism industry or to start your own tourism business, including entrepreneurship, marketing, sustainability and business training.
Your ATBO instructors are highly skilled guides in avalanche safety, rock climbing, mountaineering, whitewater kayaking, backcountry skiing, backpacking, canoeing, and sea kayaking.

Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.

Your part-time work permit will be valid for as long as you have a valid study permit.

Diploma in Wireless Systems Technician
This program provides you with the skills you need to respond to rapidly transforming resource and manufacturing industry needs. The program aims to respond to the need for technicians skilled at installing and supporting wireless sensor and controller networks and other electronics systems. Graduates may find employment in a variety of industry settings, including users of telecommunications and radio frequency systems, manufacturing, and natural resources.
In year one, students learn the foundational skills required for more complex practical applications introduced later in the program. This includes a focus on electrical and electronics systems (AC, DC, circuits, and digital fundamentals). Students then proceed to microcontroller principles, several levels of data networks (LANs, WANs, routers, switches), and allowing networks to scale.
In year two, the program includes radio frequency concepts and practical applications for wireless environments as well as microwave communications. Radio frequency navigation and location tools, and structured cabling systems are covered. Students then have the opportunity to apply the learned principles by configuring and testing real world systems, finding faults and practicing advanced troubleshooting skills.

Diploma in Business Management - General Management
As with all of our Business Management programs, the General Management diploma infuses sustainable business practice knowledge throughout your courses. Sustainability is a priority for many in today’s global business environment. Upon completion of the General Management diploma, students are eligible to take advantage of block transfer agreements the College has with many other Canadian colleges and universities. Transfer is available to most Canadian post-secondary institutions on a case-by-case basis. Students can also enter directly into Year 3 of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Sustainable Business Practices degree program at College of the Rockies.
This major was developed for students who wish a high degree of flexibility in their course selection. As well as the required Business Management courses, students may select other specialized areas.
