Concordia University of Edmonton offers a number of unique, one of a kind programs and one such program is the Bachelor of Management - Conflict Management Emphasis. This is a four year long undergraduate program where students learn to deal with professional level conflicts and other people issues in a corporate environment. The Bachelor of Management - Conflict Management Emphasis program is held in conjunction with the ADR Institute of Alberta (Appropriate Dispute Resolution). 

A number of surveys that were conducted show that, industry leaders, HR and other professionals go through some or the other level of conflict in their daily work lives. Conflict Managers come in handy during such situations and have the skills to deal with a vast array of corporate issues. A number of topics and subjects are chosen which the students study such as Supervision and Conflict Management, and Negotiation and Mediation. The emphasis is unique to Alberta and will help to give Concordia students a competitive advantage in the market place.

Sociology is a subject that studies intricate details about the fabric of the society and human role in the society. Concordia University offers its students a 4 year Bachelor’s Degree program in sociology covering a wide multitude of topics such as family, religion, deviance, gender, education, identity, environment, different types of methodologies, relationships between human beings and animals.

For someone who wishes to build a career in social services and social work, this program is ideal. Sociology can be referred to as the science of the society and thus helps an individual gain an insight into the multicultural world. This course deals with multiple aspects of society and research about various social institutions such as religion, education, governance, health-care, family, and law. This course also prepares students to further delve into academics or work as a teacher. Students can enroll themselves in B.Ed. program after the degree finishes if they wish to get into teaching. 

This post-BA program has been designed to meet the needs of students and practicing psychologists to enhance their knowledge and skills in assessment.For post-BA students, the program is intended to offer professional preparation to provide skilled assessment services under the supervision of a registered psychologist (e.g., as a psychological assistant). For registered psychologists, the courses are intended to allow students to incorporate specific domains of psychological knowledge and assessment skills into their professional practice.

Key areas of emphasis include intellectual, personality, forensic, and neuropsychological assessment, in addition to the diagnosis of child, adolescent, and adult psychopathology. Our graduate diploma requires 18 credits or 6 courses worth 3 credits each. Courses are focused on developing students’ theory and knowledge integrated with hands-on practical skills. Our diploma program is set up to provide students with the instruction and practical opportunities to acquire the abilities needed to complete psychological assessments, write reports, and make helpful, reliable, and valid suggestions for the individuals or third parties seeking the assessments.

Environmental Science is the study of interactions within ecosystems, both terrestrial and aquatic. As the world changes, scientists in this field are paramount to proactively assessing the implications and mitigating risks to the fauna and flora inhabiting those environments.
In studying Environmental Science, you will partake in discourse around the nature and characteristics of the major environmental issues prevalent in such environments. The focus of learning in this topic is to concentrate on what causes these problems, and develop the resourcefulness to propose solutions.

Several of Environmental Science courses are offered in alternating years. The Environmental Science Course Rotation shows which courses are offered each year and which are offered every other year.

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSc IT) program is designed to prepare graduates who possess the right combination of knowledge and practical expertise to solve computing technology problems in any organization.

The program provides students with theoretical knowledge and technical skills as well as professional preparedness for IT careers and/or further study (e.g., Masters). The curriculum covers core IT concepts (e.g., computing and emerging technologies, software development and cyber-security) and ethical, legal, and social issues related to IT.

Mathematics is involved in a widely diverse number of career paths such a business, computer science, the medical field, and engineering, to name a few.

Bachelor of Management - Data Management is a comprehensive four yearlong undergraduate program wherein management students are educated about the development and execution of the entire process of managing information. Concordia University is the only education institution in Alberta that offers this program. The bachelor's degree curriculum primarily covers advanced study of business, accounting, information technology, math and systems design for data management. Various other subjects include Statistics, Global technology, Business law, Marketing research and systems as well as Management principles.

This program is headed by a team of trained professionals in the field of management who can guide students in the right direction and clarify their concepts. This program is a response to feedback from the business community that students graduating in Management need to have an understanding and working knowledge of large data sets, how to analyze the data and make business related decisions.  

Psychology is the science of human behavior and psychology degrees deal with the understanding of individuals and their attributes within society. Psychology can be distinguished into a number of sub disciplines and thus Concordia University of Edmonton offers a three year bachelor’s degree in psychology which involves in depth analysis of various subjects affecting psychology such as neuroscience, biology, sociology and many more.

The Bachelor of Arts in Drama is a program that deals with the genre of drama and its influence on literature. The three year undergraduate course in drama is a one of a kind, seemingly interesting degree that has been specifically curated by the faculty at Concordia University of Edmonton. This course deals with theatrical productions of classic plays as well as modern plays and educating students about the various aspects of dramatic literature. Students are introduces to multiple practical, ancient as well as contemporary aspects of drama. Students are informed about the literary as well as technical facets of dramatic literature.
 
Technicalities such as stage management, behind the lens activities as well as the intricate details of playwriting are shared with the students. CU has the most elaborate and one of the best drama programs in the country. Students also have the option of participating in workshops and One-Act Play Festival held in the fall and winter semesters. Many of Concordia’s Drama graduates move on to work in the entertainment industry (film, theatre production, acting and script writing) or as teachers, youth workers or creative workshop leaders. 

Religious Studies takes a deeper look at the human condition, examines the meaning of life through the lens of various eras and cultures, and works to understand how religion has essentially transformed societies from multifaceted angles.
