Overview
The Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical Systems Engineering (MSE) program, delivered at the honours level, is accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) allowing graduates to become professional engineers after completing their mandatory work experience and writing a professional practice exam.The program integrates a rich blend of interdisciplinary topics covering mechanical, industrial and control engineering to enable graduates to design complex computer-controlled mechanical systems. Automated manufacturing systems, comprised of mechanical components, conveyors, electrical and pneumatic actuators, sensors and robots are examples of such mechanical systems.The MSE program is delivered in a unique project-based curriculum model allowing students to learn by doing while developing strong skills in business methodologies, project management, environmental protection and interpersonal and team dynamics. As they work on increasingly complex projects, students progress from the technical fundamentals to advanced leading technologies in design, manufacturing and automation. This project work, combined with twelve months of paid co-op opportunities, thoroughly prepares MSE graduates for a successful career in a variety of engineering fields.

Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.
You can also work part-time on campus at your university.

Students in this unique 30-week program will receive a thorough hands-on and theoretical education in the welding field, preparing them for a successful career in this industry. This program follows the curriculum of the provincial trades Welder (456A) and Metal Fabricator - Fitter (437A) and successful students will be provided the opportunity to challenge provincial exemption exams for Level 1 of the in-school training providing them with a headstart into an apprenticeship. Civil engineering involves all aspects of designing, constructing, and maintaining our cities to serve the needs of growing communities. As a technologist in this field, you will aid in the design and construction of subdivisions, highways, stormwater management, drinking water systems, waste-water systems, landfills, and structures. The Civil Engineering Technology program at Conestoga College is a three-year advanced diploma program (with optional co-op) where students gain a balanced education in civil engineering, combined with hands-on skills in labs and in the field. Students will:design clean water distribution, waste-water purification, and stormwater management systems;conduct designs of wood, steel, masonry, and concrete structures;test soils, road, and construction materials in the lab and in the field;learn how to use modern survey technology (including GPS) and apply these techniques to land development projects;create engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for civil projects;study the design of roads, highways, and transportation construction management; anddemonstrate their knowledge of civil engineering through a final capstone project working directly with industry experts. Graduates from the Electronics/Computer/Telecommunications Engineering Technician/Technology programs work with electronic, computer and communications equipment and systems. They are technical experts and problem solvers. Many of our graduates report that they enjoy the creative aspects of the job and seeing projects come to life. The three programs have the same first year. At the end of first year, students may switch programs if they desire. Graduates of the Electronics Engineering Technology program are able to design, build, test and repair a communications system or any part of one. Their very strong electronics knowledge and skills enable them to take on many roles in industry. They have particular strength in digital signal processing, as well as with circuits operating at microwave frequencies. Since embedded computer chips can replace electronic components, graduates are able to implement a given circuit function either in software or with physical parts. Graduates have a strong mathematical background and interpersonal communication skills. Since the program is approximately half lab work and half theory, graduates have a particular advantage in the practical implementation of systems, software and circuits. This dynamic three-year program gives the student broad and thorough training in all phases of the building industry. This program provides a pathway to popular School of Engineering technology programs and has been designed with student success in mind. With attention to fundamental academic skills, students develop academic readiness and are provided with opportunities for guaranteed admission to a range of engineering technology (diploma) programs.A variety of technology disciplines are incorporated, enabling students to make informed choices about career paths in technology.
