Over two semesters, faculty with current industry experience will provide guidance as you generate ideas, write, present, capture images, and use online and social media platforms to strengthen your storytelling skills. You will work on both individual and collaborative team projects, using industry standard software and technology, giving you an opportunity to build a competitive portfolio of original work. Media Foundations prepares you for further education in various Creative Industries programs, such as Broadcast Radio, Broadcasting-Television and Independent Production, Journalism, Advertising and Marketing Communications.

The Bachelor of Early Learning Program Development is a four-year, paid co-op degree program, delivered at the honours level, that will provide students with an applied understanding of developing early learning programs at the classroom and community levels. The program will prepare graduates for a number of progressive careers that support children, youth and families in the areas of curriculum implementation and co-ordination, program development and co-ordination, and social policy work. With a focus on preparing reflective professionals, the program will offer students opportunities to develop strong critical thinking and professional communication skills that will enable them to work successfully in an inter-professional team. Program design, implementation and evaluation will be considered within a framework of research-informed practice, population focus, and social inclusion. Throughout the program, students will experience authentic, situational learning opportunities that highlight the links between theory and practice in engaging and meaningful ways. They will be challenged to consider multiple theoretical perspectives as a lens to understanding social policy and determining promising professional practices that shape social and educational programs.Conestoga also offers a diploma program related to the early childhood education (ECE) field.

This program is designed to train and prepare individuals as qualified fitness and health promotion practitioners working within the fitness, health promotion and lifestyle industry. Graduates are equipped with the skills to accurately assess and monitor health and fitness levels to prepare safe and effective programs that meet clients' goals. As fitness and health promotion practitioners, graduates will provide services and programs to a variety of diverse populations such as healthy individuals, youth, seniors and those medically compromised. The program offers instruction in the areas of anatomy and physiology, fitness assessment and exercise prescription, health promotion, lifestyle coaching and behaviour modification, nutrition, therapeutic exercise, program planning, marketing, leadership and entrepreneurship, motivation and interpersonal skills. Courses will be offered using online components, as well as theory and hands-on application. Students gain valuable field experience during their on-campus internship and field work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences. Students will also have the opportunity to obtain internationally recognized fitness certifications such as Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.

Working within the payroll function of an organization requires a diverse set of skills along with specific knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, and legislative applications to ensure all aspects of the accounting and payroll cycles and compliance elements are met. This two-year Ontario College diploma program provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform effectively in entry-level bookkeeping positions as well as providing a solid knowledge of the payroll functions within organizations and the skills to perform the payroll and accounting tasks for manual and computerized systems. This program will also look at industry trends and best practices related to the compensation, benefits, and payroll functions within organizations. Topics addressed will include the payroll cycle and related calculations, how to work with agencies to ensure compliance with all legislative and government requirements, and documentation processes. Graduates will gain a solid foundation of the payroll functions within organizations and will be able to perform payroll functions for various organizations working with specific accounting systems and processes utilized in Canadian businesses. As well, graduates will provide valuable contributions to the interpersonal dynamics of an organization based on their knowledge of organizational planning and operations. Graduates that achieve Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) minimum grade requirements will be eligible to become a certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) with just 12 months of related work experience (8 months for co-op graduates). This designation ensures you have the payroll compliance knowledge and skills you need to succeed, helps you command a higher starting salary, and opens the doors for future advancement. When you get certified, you join a growing community of supportive professionals and gain access to the resources you need to stay current and compliant. Graduates will also have completed the 3 transfer credits required for the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification which is the next step for PCP certification holders looking to enter a management position. Graduates will only need to complete 2 further payroll courses with CPA and demonstrate 2 years of work experience, being responsible for the payroll function of an organization. CPM certification provides the valuable payroll compliance and management skills needed to advance.

Some of the areas of focus include transportation communication, customer service, freight calculations, hours of service, e-logging legislation, geography, logistics business practices, and driving simulation. Graduates are positioned to begin their AZ licensing with an affiliated 3rd party trainer if commercial driving is their career goal.

Business Administration - Accounting is one of five business administration programs at Conestoga College. Students in this advanced diploma program acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in an intermediate-level accounting position, along with the fundamentals necessary for advancement to managerial positions. Advanced financial accounting, managerial skills, cost-accounting systems and controls, computerized accounting and income tax knowledge are emphasized. Students learn computer skills in up-to-date labs, gaining familiarity with current versions of accounting software and other business software.

Computer animation has evolved to become a major component in the field of animation production and contributes towards shaping content for film, television, games and online applications. This Ontario College Advanced Diploma program provides you with the skills and knowledge required for all aspects of power generation and maintenance operation, both theoretical and practical, at the 4th and 3rd class levels. Power engineers operate and maintain the machinery and equipment that provides power, heat, refrigeration and other industrial services. This may include boilers, steam and gas turbines, generators, gas and diesel engines, pumps, condensers, compressors and pressure vessels in large facilities, buildings, industrial power and process plants and thermal electric generating stations. With subjects of instruction that follow the Standardized Power Engineers Examination Committee (SOPECC) syllabus and an extensive number of work integrated learning hours, this program prepares you to challenge the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) examinations required for 4th and 3rd class certification as a power engineer. If you successfully pass the 4th class ticket exam before your second placement, this program provides you with the opportunity to count the work-integrated learning hours accumulated in the second part of the program towards your time reduction qualification for your 3rd class ticket.
