Public relations is the management function of building mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and the public. In this highly interactive program, students will learn strategic and creative communication strategies to solve organizational problems or make the most of business opportunities with key publics. Students will apply creative writing and tactical execution developed with a foundation of business knowledge. A field placement opportunity is provided in the last semester to gain career experience before graduating.

This four-level English for Academic Studies program focuses on the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills required for college/university studies. Students start at a level determined by scores on an in-house placement test or an internationally-recognized English language test such as TOEFL or IELTS. In levels 2 and 3, students reinforce English skills through Canadian Perspectives courses, as well as through core English skills courses. Concurrent with English studies in Level 4, students take post-secondary credit courses including Student Success for Higher Learning. 

Domestic students (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and refugees or convention refugees) wishing to pursue English language studies should enrol in General Arts and Science: English Language Studies.

This Ontario College Advanced Diploma program provides you with the skills and knowledge required for all aspects of power generation and maintenance operation, both theoretical and practical, at the 4th and 3rd class levels. Power engineers operate and maintain the machinery and equipment that provides power, heat, refrigeration and other industrial services. This may include boilers, steam and gas turbines, generators, gas and diesel engines, pumps, condensers, compressors and pressure vessels in large facilities, buildings, industrial power and process plants and thermal electric generating stations. Highly experienced faculty and a state-of-the-art facility support active, hands-on learning providing you with the knowledge and skills required for a successful career in this field. With subjects of instruction that follow the Standardized Power Engineers Examination Committee (SOPECC) syllabus and an extensive number of work integrated learning hours, this program prepares you to challenge the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) examinations required for 4th and 3rd class certification as a power engineer. If you successfully pass the 4th class ticket exam before your second placement, this program provides you with the opportunity to count the work-integrated learning hours accumulated in the second part of the program towards your time reduction qualification for your 3rd class ticket.

In this Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Predictive Analytics, you will learn about statistical applications for data analysis, data modeling practices, and big data analytical techniques. Through individual and group activities and case studies, you will use predictive modeling and analytical techniques to bring together the management, information technology, and business modeling processes in order to make predictions about future trends. Financial Technology
The field of financial technology is evolving as it responds to the challenges facing the 21st century financial sector. Through a variety of projects, case studies and interactive learning opportunities, and using current and relevant resources to support the latest trends in financial technology, you will develop the skills needed to help individuals and businesses secure their finances. Are you attracted to modern manufacturing technologies and enjoy working with machines? This skills-based program prepares you for entry into the precision machining skilled trade or a related career in the manufacturing sector including apprenticeship through the study of computer integrated manufacturing applications. This program covers all the learning outcomes for Level 1 and Level 2 of the related apprenticeship program in Ontario. A graduate of this program may not be required to complete the in-school apprenticeship training or take an exemption exam for Levels 1 and 2 should they choose to pursue a general machinist apprenticeship. As a student in the program you have the opportunity to apply to the co-op stream in second term. The The optional co-op stream includes two back-to-back co-op work terms.

Applying to the Co-op Stream

• All applicants apply to the non co-op program. Students will be informed of the application deadline and process to apply for the Co-op Stream. Labour market conditions determine the number of co-op seats in optional co-op programs. Not every student who meets academic eligibility requirements will be admitted to the co-op stream.
• To be considered for admission to the co-op stream, students are required to achieve a minimum 65% session weighted average as well as successful completion of Precision Machining Theory I (MACH1940) and Precision Machining Practice I (MACH1955).
• Students who are not admitted into the Co-op stream or students in the non-co-op stream will have co-op semesters off instead of participating in co-op work terms. These off semesters enable students to gain part-time or full-time work or volunteer experience to build their resume and/or can catch up on academic work if scheduling permits.
• International students studying outside of Canada - ‘out of country’ - cannot apply to the co-op stream of their program. Students must be in Canada to apply to the co-op stream of their program. Students are currently experiencing longer than usual wait times for work permits. Work permit applications need to be completed more than 6 months in advance of a work term. International students studying in Canada will require work permits to utilize the co-op job board for job search and to accept employment. Please be advised that there will be no co-op program service fee refunds after the program withdrawal for refund date. Students that have not received their work permit and choose to remain in co-op after the program withdrawal for refund date do so at their own risk and will not be refunded. If you are concerned about receiving your work permit in time to achieve co-op employment, please discuss your situation with your co-op advisor as early as possible.

• The College cannot guarantee co-op employment. All co-op students are required to conduct an independent co-op job search in addition to the supports and services provided by the Department of Co-op Education.
• Students are responsible for their own transportation and associated costs in order to complete work term requirements. Work locations may not always be readily accessible by public transportation.

Global Hospitality Management
The Global Hospitality Management graduate certificate program is open to international students with a background in hospitality. This program will complement an already earned diploma or degree in business, hospitality or a related field, and enable applicants to gain a work visa in Canada. Graduates of the Global Hospitality Management program will develop more management and operational ability specific to the hospitality industry and provide graduates with opportunities to obtain a supervisory or management level position in hospitality organizations. The program will focus on essential management and operational areas needed in hospitality organizations through an exploration of theory and practice in the field of management. Students will earn a TrainCan Food Safety Certificate, Smart Serve (responsible alcohol service) Certificate, and WHMIS as part of the core curriculum. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term instead of the Guided Career Management course.
