This program is designed for graduates of technical degrees or diplomas to explore further studies across the realm of energy management. You will gain an understanding of various technologies and means of power generation through simulated software and theoretical studies. In this program, you will have the opportunity to explore how core technologies in gas and steam are combined with renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. Theoretical calculations in thermodynamic heating systems are compared with actual field measurements in heating systems to provide you with ample practice opportunities in applied utilities management strategies, where energy management and conservation strategies are assessed as part of utilities optimization. The program helps you develop leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex industrial processes and teams effectively to meet business goals. You will study quality assurance and process and project management with a focus on meeting challenges in an industrial environment from operational and strategic perspectives. During your final semester you will participate in a capstone course where you will work in teams to collaborate, plan and execute a full energy consumption analysis and develop a proposal for energy efficiency improvements for a company incorporating studies and methods you have learned over the prior three semesters.

This two-year diploma program will prepare graduates for a number of progressive careers in the diverse field of recreation and leisure services. Throughout the program, students will experience active learning opportunities that connect theory and practice through in-class projects, community connections, and practice placements, making learning engaging and meaningful. As champions of recreation and leisure services, students will provide leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating inclusive programs for diverse populations (children, youth, adults and seniors). Through social entrepreneurship, students will enhance community wellness, research-informed practices, professional leadership, and interprofessional collaboration.

Business is ever evolving to include more and more information technology (IT) resources for staff which allows for increased productivity in the workplace. This two-semester Ontario College Certificate program enables you to gain the critical knowledge and skills required to configure and troubleshoot end user computers, server operating systems, infrastructure services, and networks. Students refine their skills by completing activities that are typical in a business setting within an IT support role focusing on client needs.

Today’s organizations need a single integrated platform that will accelerate shared business processes and allow employees to make better-informed decisions. In this Ontario College Graduate Certificate program, you will discover how to enable change in an organization by applying your learned background in cloud data management and collaboration solutions. Through active, hands-on learning, you will gain the skills required to effectively perform in an enterprise content management role which provides organizational support to business teams and activities by leveraging appropriate on-premise and cloud-based IT solutions. You will learn using leading industry software to build a solid skills portfolio in data modeling, emerging technologies, project management, business analysis and change and risk management.

This two-semester graduate certificate program is designed to provide students with highly relevant applied skills, integrative learning experiences, and professional network development for careers in policing. Students will refine their abilities to analyze and make appropriate decisions in complex situations. Through class discussions, simulations, and applied projects, students will gain experience in dealing with social and organizational issues related to police services and community safety within increasingly diverse communities. Through Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) experience with relevant community organizations, students will integrate knowledge and skills within an immersive environment.

This two-year diploma program is designed for students who wish to acquire a general education in the arts and sciences while having the flexibility to explore further educational options within the college or to pursue a degree at a local university. Students will acquire skills in communication, critical thinking and research, while exploring contemporary issues in today's global society. Students will explore a topic of interest through the construction of a research project, paper, and portfolio that culminates in a presentation to an expert audience. During this program, students will participate in a course that will enable them to discover career opportunities.

In the second semester students will consult with their program coordinator to select from a variety of post-secondary courses in disciplines of their choice. The program is constructed to allow students to explore options that meet future academic goals either through selecting courses in a major discipline or courses eligible for credit transfer at the University of Waterloo (courses are subject to availability). After successful completion of this program, students may wish to apply to programs within Conestoga College or pursue further education at other institutions.

Consider this unique advanced diploma program delivered at one of the most advanced woodworking training facilities in North America. During the first year of the program, which is common with the Woodworking Technician program, you will spend a significant amount of time learning the set-up and operation of woodworking machinery and equipment, laminating, veneering, machining, sanding, assembly, and finishing. The second year, which is also common with the Woodworking Technician program, involves extensive project work, introduction to production management skills, manufacturing of kitchen cabinets, and architectural millwork. The final year of the program focuses on plant layout/support systems, materials handling, quality control, cost estimating, and computer-aided drafting. Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the trade schooling for an Ontario cabinetmaker apprenticeship are embedded in the program and this will provide you with a recognized advantage when starting your career. The co-op delivery mode affords students the opportunity to relate in-school training with real industrial experience. Due to the placement of co-op work terms, the academic semesters are fall/winter in year 1 and fall/spring in year 2 and winter/spring in Year 3. Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the trade schooling for an Ontario Cabinetmaker Apprenticeship are embedded in the program. Graduates of this program may be exempt from apprenticeship in-school training should they choose to pursue a Cabinetmaker Apprenticeship.The optional co-op stream includes three co-op work terms.

Applying to the co-op stream

• All applicants apply to the non co-op program. Students will be informed of the application deadline and process to apply for the Co-op Stream. Labour market conditions determine the number of co-op seats in optional co-op programs. Not every student who meets academic eligibility requirements will be admitted to the co-op stream.
• To be considered for admission to the co-op stream, students are required to achieve a minimum overall 70% session weighted average in Level 1 with no dropped or failed courses.
• Students who are not admitted into the Co-op stream or students in the non-co-op stream will have co-op semesters off instead of participating in co-op work terms. These off semesters enable students to gain part-time or full-time work or volunteer experience to build their resume and/or can catch up on academic work if scheduling permits.
• International students will require work permits to utilize the co-op job board for job search and to accept employment. Students are currently experiencing longer than usual wait times for work permits. Please be advised that there will be no co-op program service fee refunds after the program withdrawal for refund date. Students that have not received their work permit and choose to remain in co-op after the program withdrawal for refund date do so at their own risk and will not be refunded. If you are concerned about receiving your work permit in time to achieve co-op employment, please discuss your situation with your co-op advisor as early as possible.

• The College cannot guarantee co-op employment. All co-op students are required to conduct an independent co-op job search in addition to the supports and services provided by the Department of Co-op Education.
• Students are responsible for their own transportation and associated costs in order to complete work term requirements. Work locations may not always be readily accessible by public transportation.

Global Hospitality Management
The Global Hospitality Management graduate certificate program is open to international students with a background in hospitality. This program will complement an already earned diploma or degree in business, hospitality or a related field, and enable applicants to gain a work visa in Canada. Graduates of the Global Hospitality Management program will develop more management and operational ability specific to the hospitality industry and provide graduates with opportunities to obtain a supervisory or management level position in hospitality organizations. The program will focus on essential management and operational areas needed in hospitality organizations through an exploration of theory and practice in the field of management. Students will earn a TrainCan Food Safety Certificate, Smart Serve (responsible alcohol service) Certificate, and WHMIS as part of the core curriculum. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term instead of the Guided Career Management course.

Project Management
Learn how to manage simple to complex projects from start to finish, and become a critical part of an organization’s most exciting achievements. Develop the skills you need to oversee project management activities such as planning, managing scope, costs, time while balancing client expectations. Learn organizational Agility with practices such as Scrum. Establish goals for your project team and lead them to overcome obstacles to achieve success, meeting stakeholders needs. Earn project management education hours towards a variety of certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Scrum Master (ASM), Risk Management Professional (RMP), or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) designations. Graduates of the Public Relations - Integrated Communications program will deal with the needs of organizations todevelop and execute integrated communication plans that inform, motivate, and gain support from the public and contribute to organizational communications objectives. This integrated communication process relies on researching public behaviour and developing targeted strategies from a variety of disciplines into a cohesive plan. Strategy is followed by the writing and designing of professional digital, print and graphic communications tactics. Students will conduct research with an emphasis on analysis and assess the implications of public relations, marketing, advertising, social media, direct marketing and branding. The final semester includes an individual client-based capstone project that links learning with real-world application. The importance of business ethics; leadership; professional relationships and development; and professional societies in the broad communications field will be emphasized throughout the program. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term.

Business Administration - Accounting is one of five business administration programs at Conestoga College. Students in this advanced diploma program acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in an intermediate-level accounting position, along with the fundamentals necessary for advancement to managerial positions. Advanced financial accounting, managerial skills, cost-accounting systems and controls, computerized accounting and income tax knowledge are emphasized. Students learn computer skills in up-to-date labs, gaining familiarity with current versions of accounting software and other business software.
