Using leading-edge hardware and software and through the creation of VR content, you will discover how to enhance the user experience through human-centered design techniques, storytelling methods, environment construction, character development, and user navigation. Students come together from multiple related disciplines such as Animation, Game, IT, Film and Television to combine traditional and emerging technologies and techniques to create engaging immersive experiences.

Financial Technology
The field of financial technology is evolving as it responds to the challenges facing the 21st century financial sector. This means that professionals employed in the field must be equipped to support diverse client groups such as individuals and company-based financial institutions. If you have a background in the computer industry, finance or other related fields, and are ready to attain in-depth competencies to help consumers and businesses track, manage, and facilitate their finances, this Ontario College Graduate Certificate program will be of interest to you. Through a variety of projects, case studies and interactive learning opportunities, and using current and relevant resources to support the latest trends in financial technology, you will develop the skills needed to help individuals and businesses secure their finances. The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) – Financial Services degree program provides the opportunity to develop necessary planning competencies, professional skills, and required technical knowledge needed for a career in financial services. This four-year program, delivered at the honours level, offers a clear pathway to many successful and exciting career opportunities in banking, insurance, investment management, and estate and financial planning. You will learn through a combination of active learning approaches, which include group work, major individual case analyses, multiple projects requiring industry engagement, and meetings with industry professionals outside of the college. By the mid-point of this program, the faculty team ensures you will be ready to begin your preferred major – either in financial planning or property and casualty insurance. Whichever major you choose, you will encounter a blend of extensive technical analyses and opportunities to develop your professional ‘soft’ skills. You will apply and further refine your program-related skills and abilities through an 8-month, paid, full-time co-op work-term situated between third and fourth year. The program curriculum is aligned with the body of knowledge and course requirements (in whole or in part) for a number of professional licenses. As a successful graduate of the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) – Financial Services degree program, you will meet the pre-requisite conditions to challenge professional examinations and/or receive advanced standing into the following licenses/designations:

• Personal Financial Planner (PFP) granted by the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI)
• Qualified Associate Financial Planner (QAFP) granted by Financial Planning Canada (FP Canada)
• FP Canada’s Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP)
• Additional licenses for insurance and securities

The Business – Finance program is a two-year diploma that prepares students for entry-level careers in the financial services sector. Students will acquire a broad range of customer service skills for a variety of employment settings in all sectors of business and industry, including banks and other financial institutions, government offices, small businesses and financial planning firms. Graduates of the program are able to apply computer, communication and mathematical skills, and employ financial planning and service techniques to support activities, including the maintenance, preparation and presentation of individuals’ or organizations’ financial documents and statements and individuals’ tax returns. In addition, graduates collaborate on a number of more complex functions, including financial analysis, planning and control.

As a student in the Woodworking Technician program, you will study at one of the most advanced woodworking training facilities in North America. You will receive a solid foundation in the skills and technology involved in the manufacture of furniture, cabinets and architectural millwork, as well as training in modern manufacturing techniques. During the first year of the program, which is common with the Woodworking Technology program, you will spend a significant amount of time learning the set-up and operation of woodworking machinery and equipment, laminating, veneering, machining, sanding, assembly and finishing. The second year, which is also common with the Woodworking Technology program, involves extensive project work, introduction to production management skills, manufacturing of kitchen cabinets and architectural millwork.

The Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness (OHSW) graduate program provides a focused body of knowledge and skills for individuals interested in developing and building their knowledge and skills in occupational health, safety and wellness. In today's work environment, a balance of work and personal wellness is critical from both the personal and organizational perspective. The workplace is a priority target setting for health promotion initiatives as set out by the World Health Organization, with the end goals of protecting and promoting both individual and organizational well-being. Therefore, employers are required to manage occupational health, safety and wellness from a legal perspective, and have moral and ethical imperatives to do so. Additionally, there is an economic advantage to employers who seek to maximize productivity and engagement in the workplace since healthy workers are more productive, more engaged, and have lower absenteeism and presenteeism rates.

The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in how occupational health, safety and wellness initiatives can be developed and implemented in businesses and organizations to address these imperatives. Students will research and analyze existing health, safety and wellness trends and utilize that research to develop programs that address health, safety and wellness concerns within the workplace.

This program is intended for students who wish to develop a basic level of competence in business. Students will study the principles of business organization, accounting, marketing, operations management, and business communications. Completion of the program will assist students to confirm their intentions and to define the business discipline they wish to study should they choose to continue with one of Conestoga's business or business administration programs. 

Upon completion of the program students will be able to transfer directly into the second semester of Business diploma programs: Business, Business Administration Management, Accounting and Supply Chain and Operations Management. Alternatively, students will receive up to 7 transfer credits towards other Business diploma programs. Students who achieve over 75% in their first semester can apply for an early transfer to Level 1 of Business or a Business Administration program should they choose to.

The Educational Support program will prepare graduates to work effectively with learners of all ages with exceptionalities. Through this program, students will develop a variety of educational interventions and techniques that will allow them to become contributing members of an educational team working with learners with exceptionalities. They will experience real-life opportunities that connect theory and practice through in-class projects and engaging and meaningful work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences.

The Health Care Administration and Service Management program will provide those with health care credentials with leadership theories and practical applications specific to the health care environment. The curriculum is geared toward providing a wide base of professional skills in a health care context such as finance, communication, human resources, leadership, operations, and critical thinking.
