The program prepares students to enter into a career in the residential and light commercial construction sector. Students will learn how to apply technical skills to solve a number of construction and renovation challenges. Year 1 of the program focuses on the interior and exterior construction of residential and light commercial buildings. Year 2 of the program focuses on renovation of existing structures, project planning, and construction of common outdoor structures. Graduates will be productive, well-trained and aware of the hazards and safety requirements on construction sites. A graduate of this program may be exempt from the Level 1 Apprenticeship In-school training should they choose to pursue a General Carpenter Apprenticeship.

Now is the time to consider a career in the electrical trades. Contractors and industry are always looking for people with solid foundational skills. The electrical trades offer a rewarding, fast-paced career; one in which you can play an essential role as a team member with an electrical contractor or within a manufacturing facility working with innovative technology. If you love working with your hands and are a creative problem solver, this program is for you. Electrical Techniques is a two semester Ontario College Certificate program which will teach you how electricity works, how to interpret code rules, read blueprints, and how electronics are used in today's high tech world. The faculty are licensed electricians and they will instruct you in dedicated electrical shops. Small class sizes and availability of equipment for everyone enable you to spend significant time with tools in your hands learning the skills that will make the difference in your career.

The Electrical Techniques program includes academic upgrading, opening doors for you if you decide to continue your education at Conestoga College. You could choose to apply to any School of Trades programs or apply to the second semester of the Electrical Industrial Technician diploma program (#1154). The Electrical Techniques program is a great choice if you want to explore the career opportunities that the skilled trades have to offer, get job ready skills or pursue a new found passion for electrical technology.

Program Outcomes:-

• Assist in the interpretation and preparation of electrical drawings including other related documents and graphics
• Analyze and solve simple technical problems related to basic electrical systems by applying mathematics and science principles
• Use and maintain test and instrumentation equipment
• Assemble basic electrical circuits and equipment to fulfill requirements and specifications under the supervision of a qualified person
• Assist in the installation and troubleshooting of basic electrical machines and associated control systems under the supervision of a qualified person
• Assist in testing and troubleshooting electrical and electronic circuits, equipment, and systems by using established procedures under the supervision of a qualified person
• Assist in the troubleshooting of control systems under the supervision of a qualified person
• Use computer skills and tools to solve basic electrical related problems

This program provides students with an overview of the hospitality and tourism industry along with entry-level management skills for this very diverse and integrated industry. Students will receive a broad base of business and entrepreneur skills ensuring a strong understanding of financial, customer service, marketing, and the human resources aspects of the industry. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term.

Applying to the Co-op Stream

• All applicants apply to the non co-op program. Students will be informed of the application deadline and process to apply for the Co-op Stream. Labour market conditions determine the number of co-op seats in optional co-op programs. Every student who meets academic eligibility requirements may not be admitted to the co-op stream.
• To be considered for admission to the co-op stream, students are required to achieve a minimum 70% session weighted average, with no dropped or failed courses during the term that occurs two terms prior to the co-op work term.

• The College cannot guarantee co-op employment. All co-op students are required to conduct an independent co-op job search in addition to the supports and services provided by the Department of Co-op Education.
• Students are responsible for their own transportation and associated costs in order to complete work term requirements. Work locations may not always be readily accessible by public transportation.

Process Quality Engineering
This advanced-level graduate certificate program provides individuals with the knowledge and techniques to improve the delivery and quality of products and services. The material that is taught in this program can be applied within any area of an organization. The focus of this program is on the achievement of performance excellence through the use of modern quality improvement methods. The program develops the skills required to perform process quality roles in a broad range of organizations and sectors.The program content aligns favourably with selected American Society of Quality's (ASQ) Bodies of Knowledge. This program is non-industry specific as it provides the proficiencies demanded by organizations in today’s market place.

Project Management
Learn how to manage simple to complex projects from start to finish, and become a critical part of an organization’s most exciting achievements. Develop the skills you need to oversee project management activities such as planning, managing scope, costs, time while balancing client expectations. Learn organizational Agility with practices such as Scrum. Establish goals for your project team and lead them to overcome obstacles to achieve success, meeting stakeholders needs. Earn project management education hours towards a variety of certifications: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Scrum Master (ASM), Risk Management Professional (RMP), or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) designations. Quality Assurance - Manufacturing and Management
Today’s manufacturing sector requires highly skilled individuals with in-depth knowledge of current quality assurance, problem solving, and management practices. This two-semester Quality Assurance Manufacturing and Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate will provide you with the knowledge and techniques to improve the delivery and quality of goods and services. This program focuses on the use of modern quality improvement and problem solving methods that support the achievement of performance excellence in manufacturing and associated business processes. A combination of theoretical and practical learning opportunities will prepare you for a variety of management and quality focused career opportunities.

Process Quality Engineering

This program prepares graduates for an exciting career in the field of Information Technology Infrastructure support and administration. Graduate employability is significantly enhanced by in- depth training in a broad range of business, computer and people skills that are in high demand across many industries. Rapid problem solving through the application of critical thinking is an emphasis throughout the program.
Program focus is on the practical application of skills and knowledge to install, configure and troubleshoot workstation and server computers, networks and cloud environments, including standard infrastructure services such as database and messaging systems. Practical work is completed on industry standard hardware and software encountered in the workplace. An optional co-op work term is included to enhance education. Through their education in this program, students will gain a solid foundation to challenge industry certification exams in the areas of operating system support, networking and virtualization should they so choose. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term. 

The Early Childhood Education Resource Consulting certificate program provides early childhood educators with the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities to work as resource consultants with children with special needs and their families. Through interactive classroom learning and integrative field placement experiences, students will develop skills that will enable them to work in collaboration with families, colleagues, and communities to support inclusive early learning environments. This program is enhanced with specific language courses that focus on professional and practice skills for the Canadian workplace. Domestic students (Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and refugees or convention refugees) wishing to pursue a full-time Early Childhood Education Resource Consulting certificate program should enroll in the Early Childhood Education Resource Consulting program or if wishing to study on a part-time basis through Continuing Education.

Software Engineering Technician is a two-year program that teaches the skills required to write computer software while developing problem-solving skills using a variety of computer languages in a technical programming environment. Software Engineering Technician Program Highlights:· Broad base of languages and technologies, including web development, databases, and cyber security· Focused, hands-on approach· One of the strongest programs of its type in Ontario The Software Engineering Technician program at Conestoga is most suitable for students who have significant exposure to the software industry but do not have the relevant academic credentials. This program is also suitable for students who are time limited to two-year diplomas. All other students interested in careers in software should instead consider the three-year Software Engineering Technology program.

Information Technology Infrastructure

Information technology workers need a broad range of practical skills to enhance concepts and principles that are often the focus of post-secondary study. This two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate program concentrates on hands-on application of network and systems administration practices and techniques commonly employed in modern IT enterprise infrastructure management.
Students will gain valuable skills and knowledge in the deployment and configuration of network operating systems (desktop and server), infrastructure services and network technologies. Students will also acquire foundational knowledge to work towards challenging professional certification exams from various organizations. Graduates of this program will have the skills required to move into IT administration positions or transition into more advanced graduate studies in areas such as security, networking and operations.

Virtualization and Cloud Computing

Information Technology is an ever-changing field with two of these new areas of expertise being Virtualization and Cloud Computing. Organizations have started to replace physical computers (servers and desktops) in their organizations with ‘virtual machines’. The virtualization strategy allows companies to replace existing hardware driving cost savings and reduction of infrastructure support. Furthering this, companies are also starting to purchase or lease cloud services as a means of provisioning services without any onsite installations of hardware. In order to help organizations succeed, specialist skills in these fields are required. This two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate program concentrates on hands-on experiential practices and techniques commonly employed in Virtualization and Cloud Computing. You will gain valuable skills and knowledge in systems, infrastructure services, cloud technologies, as well as systems architecture methodologies. Graduates will have the skills required to move into more senior IT and Data Centre positions.
