Electronics engineering technologists design, test, install and service electronic equipment.

As a technologist, you have the ability to expand your skills into a wider career path including the design of circuits and projects. Technologists study more advanced courses in math, engineering theory and scientific principles giving them advanced knowledge. Since many technologists move into more advanced levels of engineering as part of their career progression, this program covers theory through the hands-on, practical, project-based learning of:

To ensure program flexibility, the Electronics Engineering Technician and Electronics Engineering Technology programs have a common first and second year.

Graduates enter the workforce ready to take the diverse, exciting, and rewarding career opportunities that are currently outpacing the professionals available to fill them.

In this program, you will develop knowledge of business processes and management tools to develop demand forecasts; evaluate suppliers’ capabilities to ethically source purchased goods and services; use technology, including SAP® and Microsoft Excel/Project; and develop supply chain plans and schedules to efficiently produce goods or services that meet quality expectations and the needs of the global markets. You will also learn industry-standard practices including Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Just-in-Time, Lean Principles, and Project Management. Led by knowledgeable faculty with strong ties to industry, this program also provides many opportunities for real-world learning experiences through either field placement or co-op work terms. You will also be able to earn industry credentials, including the SAP-UA Student Recognition Award and Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in Excel, to help you stand out to employers in a competitive market.

Supply chain and operations management is the core functional area of any business. Supply chain and operations managers obtain, develop and manage the resources required to deliver goods and services to clients. This includes contributing to key decisions involving:

• Purchasing/Procurement
• Operations  planning and scheduling
• Supply chain management
• Quality assurance
• Facilities management
• Inventory management
• Transportation, distribution and logistics

Graduates are well-positioned to pursue a variety of professional accreditations with professional organizations including:

• Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) - Certified in Production and Inventory Management
• Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) - Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation
• Project Management Institute (PMI) – Certified Associate in Project Management

After completing one year of business study, you may choose to graduate with a certificate in Business Fundamentals. After two years of study, you may choose to graduate with a diploma in Supply Chain and Operations – Business.

Students will have two options to gain valuable skills in the workforce and will either complete a field placement or a co-operative education (co-op) experience. Students completing the field placement will participate in an unpaid work placement completed during semester 6. Students who qualify for the co-op experience will complete a four-month paid work experience in between second and third year of their program.

Co-operative education (co-op)

The best way to succeed in your field is to immerse yourself in it! Co-op is an excellent way to build your professional network, explore career paths and apply in-class teachings to real work situations. Co-op is a model of education that integrates academic learning with workplace learning in fields relevant to our students’ academic and personal goals. Similar to an academic course, work terms are a mandatory component to this form of experiential learning.

Students in the Business Administration – Supply Chain and Operations Management Advanced Diploma program will be invited to apply to the co-op option during their first year of study. Entrance to the co-op option is limited and the processes for securing a work term are competitive.  Students who qualify for co-op will be eligible to complete a four-month, paid work term between the second and third years of their program. Students interested in co-op may also apply to transfer to the co-op internship option of their program which would extend the work integrated learning opportunity to 4 consecutive work terms.

Supports are available through the Co-op office to assist students with securing their work terms. In addition, the Co-op office is in contact with co-op students and their employers during the work terms to help with any questions. Upon completing the work term, co-op students return to campus to complete their final two academic semesters of the program before graduating.

This program is designed to provide a balance between strong technical skills and artistic vision. With an emphasis on effective composition and meaningful content you will explore a variety of topics including:

This program also emphasizes critical thinking by requiring you to:

• Examine past solutions
• Explore new and more efficient techniques
• Learn how to use technology confidently and safely.

The curriculum combines creative theory, technical language and practical experience through the use of state-of-the-art hardware and software. Courses are focused on a variety of techniques including image capture and processing as well as entrepreneurial skills

An aging population, as well as greater public awareness of health issues, has resulted in more job opportunities in health occupations. The demand for massage therapy is also fueled by its growing popularity as a means of relaxation, stress relief and rehabilitation in today’s busy society.

In this program, students will acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide safe, effective and ethical care at the entry-level of practice within the massage therapy profession.

Major emphasis is placed on the development of effective interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking, empathic responses and decision making. Students learn how to meet legal and ethical obligations according to legislative and profession-specific guidelines. Anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, massage theory, communication, entrepreneurial and professional skills are also emphasized.

The program’s foundation is based on the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics identified by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).

In six semesters, students will have demonstrated the ability to:

This includes monitoring and incorporating the latest trends in their promotional planning, such as digital media, to reach consumers in the most effective way.

Security violations, data breaches, privacy failures and other technology failures are in the news every day and pose a growing threat to business and personal information. This eight-month, full-time graduate certificate program provides students with the security background needed in network technologies, computing hardware, operating systems and protocols to harden and further secure such systems from attack. Students develop, evaluate and support information technology (IT) security solutions by creating cost-effective and secure computing environments that will safeguard networked computer systems, including both on-premise and cloud-based systems. This program helps students become skilled in formulating and organizing security policies and procedures to protect corporate information assets including legal, regulatory and governance issues, and teaches how to detect various hacking and penetration attacks. As marketers strive to increase their share of consumer attention, they must research how people are spending time across multiple devices and platforms. When you understand consumer markets and behaviour, you can create great advertising campaigns.

The Advertising and Marketing Communications program prepares you with the knowledge, skills and experience for an exciting career in the advertising industry. You can work at an agency, research or production firm, or within a media company; we will help you choose the path that best suits your skill-set. You will gain experience as an account manager and production artist working for campus media, and have the opportunity to participate in the college advertising agency – ‘collaboragency’. Our students manage real accounts and deliver both strategic and creative recommendations to achieve client goals.

This two-semester pathway is designed for individuals interested in pursuing various science and engineering programs at Ontario Tech University (Ontario Tech). This option offers opportunities to refine essential skills and develop foundational knowledge in the areas of science, mathematics, and communication, which are necessary for admission into future post-secondary programs. Some General Arts and Science courses are also transferable to other post-secondary programs. This pathway has the added benefit of helping students become better acquainted with post-secondary life, workload, and expectations.
