Co-operative Education

The Photography program provides training for students in the professional aspects of the photography industry. Digital SLR instruction will prepare the student for work in photojournalism, architectural, advertising, fashion, product, industrial, public relations, portrait, and wedding photography. You will work behind the camera producing a variety of films and shows that includes narratives, documentaries, live sports, news, commercials and promotions with your talented and passionate classmates. There are opportunities to produce, shoot or edit programs that will be aired throughout the region or shown at film festivals, reaching thousands of viewers. When you graduate, you will have experienced all areas of creative and technical roles including, studio production, cinematic production, field production, mobile sports production, computer graphics, post-production editing, scriptwriting and sales, marketing and entrepreneurship. Areas of study include: On-Air Performance, Creative Writing, Audio and Commercial Production, Sales/Marketing/Promotions, Music and Programming and Web and Social Media content development.  Listen live to students perform on 106.9 CIXX-FM, The X at www.1069thex.com, The Falcon at www.thefalcon.ca, CFRL Radio at www.cfrlradio.ca, and Stellar Radio, live video and audio at livestream.com/stellar_radio.  Broadcasting - Radio and Media Production students learn in a live on-air environment while performing on-air and various job functions identical to those in the Broadcast industry.

This three-year Commercial Flight and Aviation Leadership Advanced Diploma is designed to prepare domestic and international students for a career in aviation.

Business - Finance (Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. This program is designed to develop the skills needed to work in the growing personal financial services sector, from customer service to wealth management and financial planning. Students will learn to work with clients, evaluating their needs and offer advice on personal financial management, tax and retirement planning, insurance, investments, and estate planning, as well as customer relations and providing product to clients. Qualified graduates will have completed all the educational requirements leading to the CFP® (Certified Financial Planner®) designation awarded by the Financial Planning Standards Council www.fpsc.ca. and the Registered Retirement Consultant® RRC® designation awarded by CIFP.

Students are also prepared to write the Canadian Securities Course® and Life Licensing Qualification Program examinations as prerequisites to securities and life insurance licensing. Students will also have completed the Mutual Funds Licensing course.

Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term.

Professional Accounting is a three level program that enables students from any undergraduate discipline to complete a graduate certificate in Accounting.
Upon completion of the program, students will have completed all entry and technical courses of the Advanced Certificate in Accounting (ACAF) offered by CPA Canada.  Students will still need to complete four applied courses which are offered through Part-Time Studies at Fanshawe College. The ACAF program is the only standardized national education program in Canada for intermediate accounting positions.  Students that complete the program will also be eligible for some exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Courses will be enriched with hands-on integrated technology applications and case studies based on real-world scenarios. Further real-world industry exposure will be maximized with guest speakers and hands-on projects.  The program is designed to integrate all of the course topics and to develop students critical thinking skills, research skills, and decision-making skills.
Students will make extensive use of Microsoft Excel and other software used in the accounting industry.

Business - Supply Chain and Operations is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. The curriculum covers theory and application of supply chain management in private and public sector environments. Specifically, courses address material sourcing, transportation methods, inventory, retail management, negotiation skills and analytical techniques. Students also enhance their computer skills and their business communication skills. The program aligns to the curriculum of various professional associations in supply chain management. Graduates, equipped with the skills required to improve an organization's profitability and operations, are in high demand in both the private and public sector.

  • The Business - Supply Chain and Operations program shares a common first level with all business diploma programs in the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business, which allows for program transfer, with no loss of credit, after Level 1.
  • Students entering Level 1 of the program in January are expected to proceed into Level 2 of the program in the summer term.  Students entering Level 1 of the program in February or May will proceed to Level 2 of the program in September.
  • Graduates may be eligible for admission to the following Graduate Certificate programs in the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business: Agri-Business Management, Human Resources Management, International Business Management, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Professional Financial Services, or Project Management. Graduate Certificate programs deliver a specialized professional curriculum in two four-month levels.
  • This program is eligible for consideration of college to college transfer of credits under the Ontario Provincial ONCAT agreement.
  • Students who graduate from this program with a GPA of 3.0 or greater are eligible to receive Advanced Standing towards their Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) designation (4 modules and 2 workshops). 
  • Articulation agreements exist with the Supply Chain Canada which provides advanced standing in the Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) designation program.
