Overview

General Arts and Science is an open-enrollment, preparatory-studies program designed to provide opportunities for students to experience post-secondary studies in a supportive environment. Program participants are afforded the chance to develop a wide range of essential employability skills, benefit from extensive foundational Social Science and Humanities studies, upgrade their academic record, and focus on core and elective courses specific to their areas of interest. Students will also focus on professional writing and elective courses on culture, worldview, history, media and art.

Graduates of the One-Year Certificate program will be prepared to continue vocational studies at the college-level in a number of college programs. Students can also use the One-Year Certificate to apply to select Ontario universities.

Are you interested in an exciting career in Event Planning? Planning a big or small event requires extensive planning from choosing the venue, reviewing contracts, to the finer details of guest lists, decor, marketing and sponsorship.

Special Events Planning is a two-year diploma program designed for individuals interested in a career in event management. Designed by industry professionals, students will be exposed to the vast types of special events, from social events, corporate meetings, festivals, conventions and large sporting events. Students will develop the skills to effectively investigate, analyze, manage and direct most aspects of international trade. Students work with real businesses, helping small and medium exporters capitalize on global opportunities, as preparation for various careers in the ever-expanding global economy. Professors have relevant and practical expertise in international trade, investment, marketing, finance and business management. Graduates will receive an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in International Business Management and, upon meeting Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) criteria on two major projects sent for external grading and transfer of credits to FITT, a Diploma in International Trade from FITT will be issued. Graduates who complete the required work experience in international business and meet other FITT criteria can subsequently apply to receive the Certified International Trade Professional designation (CITP).

This three year Building Renovation Technology Advanced Diploma program will prepare students to plan, implement, and lead building and renovation projects and equip them with the skills to manage the technical and business operations related to a range of building projects in the residential and light commercial sectors of the construction industry.  The program will address the changes in Ontario Building Code, introduced in January 2017, which dramatically increased the requirement for buildings to be sustainable and highly energy efficient.

Co-operative Education
This three year program has two co-operative education work terms.  Students can choose to participate in a four-month paid co-op term from May to August between years one and two of academic study.  The second work term is eight months and takes place May to December following the completion of the second year of academic study.
