This graduate certificate program teaches students to leverage sports and events as an all-encompassing marketing communication medium. While the courses focus on sport as the learning catalyst, the skills learned also apply to other sectors such as arts, entertainment and non-profit, broadening the employment landscape for business and marketing students. Students will benefit from courses that include advanced and management level skills in the Sport and Event Marketing and Management world. Digital platforms ensure students use the latest in forms and tools.

The Developmental Services Worker two-year diploma program prepares its graduates to support people with developmental disabilities so that these individuals may participate fully in their communities. DSW have the specialized knowledge and skills required to work with people with developmental disabilities across the life span.

Inherent to the role of a DSW is an ability to collaborate and build relationships with people with developmental disabilities and their families and to work with colleagues and members of inter-professional teams to facilitate a seamless network of support for people.

Courses focus on disabilities, person directed supports, inclusion and community resources, dual diagnosis, interpersonal skills, counselling, health, pharmacology, development, teaching and intervention strategies. Field placements in community agencies and/or schools are part of the curriculum.

The Advanced Filmmaking program is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate program which builds upon the students previous diploma/degree skills by providing opportunities to work in cross-functional teams to create both narrative and documentary films, television productions, and other media. All phases of digital filmmaking will be experienced, including pre-production, production, and post-production. Students will collaborate with students in other College programs (television, acting, fashion, multimedia, music industry arts) in the creation of digital media products.

Learning Outcomes
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

• Create narrative and documentary films, television productions, and other media (such as webcasts) that illustrate the application of aesthetic and theoretical principles of filmmaking;
• Identify and develop stories and scripts for narrative and documentary films and other media, for both general and specific audiences;
• Plan and apply appropriate pre-production techniques to prepare for the efficient and cost-effective production of narrative and documentary films and other media;
• Produce and direct narrative and documentary films and other media to commercial, technical, legal and ethical standards by working independently or in a crew;
• Operate digital cameras, audio, editing and lighting equipment during the creation of documentary and narrative films and other media.
• Produce market-ready narrative and documentary films and other media by collaborating with post-production experts;
• Plan media-marketing/distribution strategies for a variety of venues and formats;
• Lead co-workers and others in all phases of film development, through the application of superior communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills.

This two-year program is designed to prepare students for basic social work practice in social agencies and social welfare programs, both public and private, by providing them with a sound knowledge of human behaviour, of individual and social problems and of the necessary helping techniques and skills.

This multidisciplinary program shall expose students to aspects of electromechanical systems. Traditionally, similar programs of study have been found in the electrical/electronic disciplines. Graduates from these programs will also gain knowledge of the mechanical aspects of a system, such as the ability to read mechanical prints, understand tolerances, as well as understand the mechanical nuances of a system.

This program will expose students to both electrical and mechanical principles, allowing graduates from the program to be capable of analyzing, modifying, maintaining and repairing electromechanical systems. As such, the focus of the program shall be concurrent engineering with respect to products and processes. Students shall also be exposed to project management and quality systems. The program will culminate in a 15-week capstone project course where students shall be able to apply their knowledge and document it according to current industry practice.

Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term.
This is a two-year Co-operative Education program delivered over three years due to the co-op pattern. Students who fulfill both the academic and co-op requirements of the program will be eligible to graduate with a Co-op Endorsed Diploma. This program is structured for individuals with previous BIM experience who are looking to expand their knowledge in a rapidly growing sector of the AEC industry. Courses will explore current industry topics such as, BIM Implementation and Procurement, BIM Management and Workflows; BIM Integration (Clash Detection; Reality Capture) and Collaboration using BIM tools among many other relevant items. These courses will provide the student with greater insight in the world of BIM and Integrated Practice methods for the construction sector.

Learning Outcomes 

• Develop an implementation plan for Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) in the Architecture, Engineering, and/or Construction industries.
• Formulate strategies for leadership and personnel management, and apply team building skills in an interdisciplinary setting to develop collaborative design and construction solutions.
• Analyze BIM processes and execute appropriate BIM management techniques to facilitate Integrated Project Delivery from project conceptualization to facilities management.
• Conduct project risk analysis using BIM and IPD processes to optimize project outcomes for all stakeholders.
• Deploy BIM computer platforms to create virtual building information models and generate presentation elements.
• Integrate various suites of BIM applications into project design, construction, and facilities management to improve the transfer of information between different disciplines and during all phases of a building's life cycle.

This three year Building Renovation Technology Advanced Diploma program will prepare students to plan, implement, and lead building and renovation projects and equip them with the skills to manage the technical and business operations related to a range of building projects in the residential and light commercial sectors of the construction industry.  The program will address the changes in Ontario Building Code, introduced in January 2017, which dramatically increased the requirement for buildings to be sustainable and highly energy efficient.

Co-operative Education
This three year program has two co-operative education work terms.  Students can choose to participate in a four-month paid co-op term from May to August between years one and two of academic study.  The second work term is eight months and takes place May to December following the completion of the second year of academic study.

Journalism - Broadcast students learn skills to develop a career as a Broadcast Journalist in electronic media, radio, television and webmedia.  Develop story telling skills as a reporter using broadcast news gathering equipment, audio and visual, news writing, newscasting, news editing, interviewing, researching, documentary/current affairs production, sportscasting, newsbeats, news management, media law and media ethics.

Students operate four broadcast properties in Fanshawe College's School of Contemporary Media building, which is equipped with the latest in broadcast facilities.

The program offers practical, hands-on training with live on-air performances on the College broadcast properties (e.g., Listen live at CIXX-FM, The X 106.9FM www.1069thex.ca, The Falcon at www.thefalcon.ca, CFRL Radio at www.cfrlradio.ca, and the new Stellar Radio, live video and audio at http://original.livestream.com/stellar_radio

Insurance and Risk Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program designed for university and college graduates looking for a career in the property and casualty insurance industry. This program will allow students to earn credits towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.

Business - Human Resources is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. Students learn business basics such as accounting, communications, and computer applications, then focus on HR subjects such as training and development, recruitment, compensation, benefits, employment law and occupational health and safety.  In addition, students have the opportunity to achieve six of the nine Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/CHRL) credits. In their final semester, in class students have the opportunity to participate in a mentorship with an HR professional to experience first-hand the HR workplace environment. Graduates are in demand for HR generalist  jobs as well as in recruiting, compensation and benefits, training and development and health and safety. Graduates who meet admission requirements are eligible for transfer to the Business Administration - Human Resources Advanced Diploma program where they will have the opportunity to achieve the balance of the CHRP/CHRL credits (three additional credits).
