Business - Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy (Accelerated)

The professional faculty, including Registered Massage Therapists, medical professionals and seasoned professors will provide students with a high calibre experience. Students will learn, first hand, that the practice of massage therapy is the "assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain," as according to The Massage Therapy Act of Ontario. The Massage Therapy program at Fanshawe College is both challenging and rewarding. Through this program, you can acquire more than the core knowledge and skills required to succeed as a massage therapist.

Theory and practice are integral to the program, and students will be exposed to directly learning the skills of a Massage Therapist in the first level. Individual attention is spent by the faculty to ensure you achieve the utmost from your education. Many adjunct therapies to the Massage Therapist will be studied, including: sport massage, clinical massage, pregnancy massage; to name a few.

This skill is critical since marketing and sales success depends on attracting new customers while retaining and strengthening relationships with current customers.  

This one-year post-graduate certificate program provides students with a foundation in marketing and sales, with a focus on the examination and application of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Customer Experience (CX) best practices, strategies, tactics, tools, and techniques. This three-year Advanced Diploma in Cyber Security will provide students with the foundational Information Security (InfoSec) skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in the IT Security industry. Foundational topics will include information security, ethics, network management/analysis, programming and scripting, operating systems, and database management. Building on those foundational topics, the curriculum will also develop students’ skills in the areas of risk analysis, cryptography, vulnerability testing, access control implementation, and security audit performance. The Aviation Technology Aircraft Maintenance and Avionics (Co-op) Advanced Diploma is a Transport Canada approved program (TC-2018-02-4248) that provides students with the knowledge and skills required to start a career in aircraft maintenance and/or  avionics maintenance. This program will cover all aspects of aircraft maintenance including systems used in general aviation, corporate, and charter transport category aircraft as well as helicopters. The program will also include avionics training for service, repair, and maintenance of aircraft electrical and electronic systems such as communication, navigation, and data systems.

Learning Outcomes
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to

  • Service, test, troubleshoot and repair aircraft and systems on large or small, fixed or rotary wing aircraft in accordance with manufacturers' specified instructions, accepted aviation techniques/practices and the requirements of the Canadian aviation regulations.
  • Evaluate fixed wing and rotary aircraft structures and complete maintenance, assembly, fabrication, and structural repair work on large and small aircrafts in accordance with technical manuals, standard practices, and standards of performance and safety.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections on aircraft structural, operational, environmental, communication, navigation, surveillance, and flight guidance systems to ensure they are in proper working order and meet standards of performance and safety.

This program blends theory with hands-on application of theoretical principles delivered through course work and field practicum.  Students in this program will develop their knowledge and professional skills in areas such as child development and best practices in early childhood; the early childhood educator's role and responsibilities; the importance of play in children's learning; family involvement and curriculum design and implementation.

When the student graduates they will have the knowledge and necessary skills to work with children, families and community in the context of early learning and development programs for children from birth to age twelve. The student will be prepared to work in a variety of settings, including child care centres, early learning and family centres, Best Start programs, before and after school programs and with school boards.

This three year Building Renovation Technology Advanced Diploma program will prepare students to plan, implement, and lead building and renovation projects and equip them with the skills to manage the technical and business operations related to a range of building projects in the residential and light commercial sectors of the construction industry.  The program will address the changes in Ontario Building Code, introduced in January 2017, which dramatically increased the requirement for buildings to be sustainable and highly energy efficient.

Co-operative Education
This three year program has two co-operative education work terms.  Students can choose to participate in a four-month paid co-op term from May to August between years one and two of academic study.  The second work term is eight months and takes place May to December following the completion of the second year of academic study.
