Overview
The Developmental Services Worker (Fast Track) Diploma program prepares its graduates to support people with developmental disabilities so that these individuals may participate fully in their communities. DSW have the specialized knowledge and skills required to work with people with developmental disabilities across the life span.
Inherent to the role of a DSW is an ability to collaborate and build relationships with people with developmental disabilities and their families and to work with colleagues and members of inter-professional teams to facilitate a seamless network of support for people.
Courses focus on disabilities, person-directed support, inclusion and community resources, dual diagnosis, interpersonal skills, counseling, health, pharmacology, development, teaching, and intervention strategies. Field placements in community agencies and/or schools are part of the curriculum.

Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.
You can also work part-time on campus at your university.

Your part-time work permit will be valid for as long as you have a valid study permit.

Diploma in Law Clerk (Co-op)
Fanshawe College's Law Clerk (Co-op) program is designed to provide students with a solid grounding in legal principles combined with the practical law clerk training that students will need to enter the diverse, fast-paced modern field of law. As a graduate of the Law Clerk program you will work as part of a team in law firms, corporate legal departments, financial institutions, insurance companies, legal technology providers, title insurance companies, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments or in any other capacity where a legal environment exists. Depending upon your choice of career path, you could find yourself preparing motion records and trial documentation, interviewing witnesses, arranging trial dates and adjournments, drafting corporate/commercial documentation, completing Family Law Act financial statements, administering estates, negotiating leases, administering contracts, completing legal research, searching titles or processing real estate transactions. At Fanshawe College you will learn about many areas of Canadian law including civil litigation, corporate/commercial, debtor and creditor rights, real estate, landlord and tenant, estate administration, family law and contracts. You will refine your communication and information processing skills as you learn how to research, analyze and write in the legal environment. You will develop an ability to work with a variety of leading-edge legal software applications and online commercial legal databases and services.
Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term.

Business - Supply Chain and Operations (Co-op) is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program with a co-operative education component. Business - Human Resources is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. Graduate Certificate in Paralegal
The Paralegal program is designed to provide students with the specialized knowledge and skills required to work as licensed Paralegals in Ontario. It is designed for those seeking licensing in accordance with the Law Society Act and under the Law Society of Ontario to become a practicing paralegal and for those who wish to upgrade their skills and broaden their areas of knowledge and expertise in authorized areas of practice.
Provincial legislation requires Paralegals to be licensed to practice in the areas of Small Claims Court, Provincial Offences, Summary Conviction Offences and Administrative Tribunals in Ontario. This program has been accredited by the LSUC and designed in accordance with LSUC curriculum requirements and core competencies and provides training in those areas in which a Licensed Paralegal may legally practice.

The Motive Power Technician (Automotive) Diploma program is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. Business Fundamentals - Entrepreneurship is a one-year Ontario College Certificate program. This customized program is designed specifically for the novice entrepreneur and will provide graduates with the knowledge required to plan, start and manage their own small business. Through the program curriculum, students explore alternatives for starting a business, such as franchising and taking over the family firm, as well as financing options. The Business Fundamentals -Entrepreneurship program gives students insight into the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship and assist students in acquiring the skills for long-term management of the business and their development as entrepreneurs. This three-year co-operative program provides training in both the municipal and structural areas. The design of steel frame and reinforced concrete buildings is studied in the structural courses. Training is provided in materials testing and computer-aided drafting. Municipal topics include the design and construction of water distribution systems, storm, and sanitary sewerage networks, storm water management and highways. Theories for the treatment of water, sewage, and solid wastes are analyzed.
