The Advanced Filmmaking program is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate program which builds upon the students previous diploma/degree skills by providing opportunities to work in cross-functional teams to create both narrative and documentary films, television productions, and other media. All phases of digital filmmaking will be experienced, including pre-production, production, and post-production. Students will collaborate with students in other College programs (television, acting, fashion, multimedia, music industry arts) in the creation of digital media products.

Learning Outcomes
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

• Create narrative and documentary films, television productions, and other media (such as webcasts) that illustrate the application of aesthetic and theoretical principles of filmmaking;
• Identify and develop stories and scripts for narrative and documentary films and other media, for both general and specific audiences;
• Plan and apply appropriate pre-production techniques to prepare for the efficient and cost-effective production of narrative and documentary films and other media;
• Produce and direct narrative and documentary films and other media to commercial, technical, legal and ethical standards by working independently or in a crew;
• Operate digital cameras, audio, editing and lighting equipment during the creation of documentary and narrative films and other media.
• Produce market-ready narrative and documentary films and other media by collaborating with post-production experts;
• Plan media-marketing/distribution strategies for a variety of venues and formats;
• Lead co-workers and others in all phases of film development, through the application of superior communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Digital Communication Management is a two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate program that is intended to prepare students to deliver messages in today's increasingly connected media environment. It is designed for students who want to expand their skills in the production and management of social media, media communications, video and audio production, photography, web and digital design.

Graduates will be able to leverage these skills in content strategy and curation, as well as user experience and design to develop significant opportunities for employment in almost any sector that wishes to engage or educate an audience.

The Broadcast Journalism - Television News Ontario College Graduate Certificate program is designed to prepare informed, principled, creative and disciplined Broadcast Journalists for a career in Television News. The unique program focus is designed to train the news Videographer/Reporter/Producer. 

Program includes use of broadcast news gathering equipment, audio and visual, news writing, newscasting, news editing, interviewing, researching, TV video editing, TV news casting, TV production and practical Broadcast Journalism experience. The program includes an ongoing internship and a two-month internship program in March and April to be completed in newsrooms across Canada.

This Graduate Certificate program will prepare students for supervisory and managerial positions in the broad transportation industry, with a particular focus on automotive service and repair. The program includes business curriculum including leadership and management, human resources, operations management, accounting, and business communications, and curriculum addressing multiple aspects of the transportation industry including automotive, truck and coach, paint and body, and agriculture operations. This unique combination of business and automotive courses will prepare graduates for a variety of positions within the transportation industry such as service consultant, parts advisor, warranty administrator, and customer relations.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate (completed in two levels) designed for university and college graduates seeking a career in the supply chain sector.

The curriculum will focus on applied knowledge in the field of supply chain management within a global economy, encompassing the planning and management of all activities involved in procurement and all logistics management activities.  

Graduates of the program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be eligible to pursue a number of credentials within the supply chain management field.

Construction Engineering Technology is a two-year diploma for students interested in overseeing the construction of residential, industrial and commercial projects. Students will learn to estimate project costs, develop a construction plan, schedule projects, and perform on-site inspections using the latest technology. Graduates will be prepared for their career by learning soft skills required to be an effective leader.

Interior designers focus on the planning, design and detailing of interior space to improve the quality of people's physical environment. The four-year Honours Bachelor of Interior Design program covers both commercial and residential design, providing comprehensive treatment of all facets of interior design including research, problem analysis, concept development, design communication, drawings and specifications, technology, verbal and visual presentation methods, construction, and business practice. The courses develop students' skills as creative designers who can formulate, propose and execute creative design solutions for the physical, social and psychological needs of a changing society. Principles of environmental sustainability and socially responsible design are embedded throughout the courses.

Co-operative Education

• Prepare working drawings and specifications for non-load bearing interior construction, in compliance with universal accessibility guidelines, applicable building codes and industry standards;

• Create design concepts across a range of sectors that reflect knowledge of historical precedents, decorative arts, architecture and related theories and best practices;

This Graduate Certificate program is designed for students to build on the knowledge and skills gained from their previous engineering background. This program will provide students with the skills required for the workplace in the mechanical engineering design and manufacturing sector. An applied capstone project will provide students with the opportunity to design, implement and manage real-world solutions using skills in industrial communications, supervision, project management and documentation.  Students will learn in classroom, lab and experiential learning environments.

A Mandatory Mobile Computing (Laptop) Program

• Plan, implement and manage mechanical engineering design projects in response to stakeholder and industry needs and requirements.
• Design experiments that evaluate fit, form and function of critical components utilizing principles of statistical process control and finite element analysis.
• Communicate clearly and concisely in written, graphic and spoken form using appropriate vocabulary and formats for professional engineering projects.

Business - Human Resources is a two-year Ontario College Diploma program. Students learn business basics such as accounting, communications, and computer applications, then focus on HR subjects such as training and development, recruitment, compensation, benefits, employment law and occupational health and safety.  In addition, students have the opportunity to achieve six of the nine Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/CHRL) credits. In their final semester, in class students have the opportunity to participate in a mentorship with an HR professional to experience first-hand the HR workplace environment. Graduates are in demand for HR generalist  jobs as well as in recruiting, compensation and benefits, training and development and health and safety. Graduates who meet admission requirements are eligible for transfer to the Business Administration - Human Resources Advanced Diploma program where they will have the opportunity to achieve the balance of the CHRP/CHRL credits (three additional credits).

Fanshawe College's Law Clerk program is designed to provide students with a solid grounding in legal principles combined with the practical law clerk training that students will need to enter the diverse, fast-paced, modern field of law. As a graduate of the Law Clerk program you will work as part of a team in law firms, corporate legal departments, financial institutions, insurance companies, legal technology providers, title insurance companies, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Governments or in any other capacity where a legal environment exists. Depending upon your choice of career path, you could find yourself preparing motion records and trial documentation, interviewing witnesses, arranging trial dates and adjournments, drafting corporate/commercial documentation, completing Family Law Act financial statements, administering estates, negotiating leases, administering contracts, completing legal research, searching titles or processing real estate transactions. At Fanshawe College you will learn about many areas of Canadian law including civil litigation, corporate/commercial, debtor and creditor rights, real estate, landlord and tenant, estate administration, family law and contracts. You will refine your communication and information processing skills as you learn how to research, analyze and write in the legal environment. You will develop an ability to work with a variety of leading-edge legal software applications and online commercial legal databases and services.
