Overview

The Interactive Media Specialist program will prepare students for an evolving job market, providing intensive training in new media technologies with an emphasis on web and mobile application development, interactive media and emerging technologies. The curriculum will combine courses in Web Coding, UI/UX Design and Portfolio Development, while incorporating industry-standard technology from companies such as Adobe, Maxxon, etc.

This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program will build upon the student's prior technical and creative base. Emphasis will be on the development of unique and creative Rich Media applications. Students will experience every major aspect of the multimedia production cycle including: 'Front-end' concept and branding, layout and application design, 'front-end' coding, content creation as well as 'back-end' coding, database implementation and integration of audio-video streaming technologies wherever needed.

This program is aimed at providing the student a better understanding of the testing paradigms and methodologies associated with Information Technology and Software development. Information Systems Testing involves a balanced understanding of Software and Hardware, Quality Assurance methodologies, Project Management approaches and Business Analysis techniques. As a comprehensive program, this graduate certificate will be broad in nature but ready students for the in-demand field of quality assurance and Quality Control. Graduates of Fanshawe College's Nutrition and Food Service Management program work with Dietitians, Cooks and Food Service Workers to provide optimum nutritional care to variety of clientele. With classes in food production, food safety, menu planning, therapeutic nutrition, finance, facilities, and employee relations. You will be leaving Fanshawe with a balance of business training and practical hands-on experience to a career in the dynamic and growing food service industry.

This program includes two five week placements where students work alongside industry professionals to build their skills. Fanshawe graduates have attained  positions as Nutrition Managers, Food Service Supervisors, Dietetic Technicians, and Directors of Food Service in Long Term Care, Retirement Residences, Hospitals, Correctional Facilities, Daycare Centers, Institutional Cafeterias, Airline Food Services, and other community agencies.

The Food and Beverage Management (Co-op) program will prepare students for careers in the global food service industry. The program provides practical training in our on-campus restaurants and kitchens. Students will be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of a formal restaurant, as well as event planning banquets and catering. The academic studies will also include such disciplines as accounting, computers, cost control, human resources management, marketing and ending with an in-depth entrepreneurial project. The students will also gain a variety of industry recognized certificates including: smart serve, safe food handlers, wine and beer sommelier.

Co-operative Education
In order to be eligible for co-op, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and be academically complete at the commencement of their co-op work term.
