As an Environmental Technician, you will work to prevent environmental problems, resolve environmental issues when necessary, and provide education to the public.

Program Highlights
Throughout this program, you will engage in a wide range of hands-on environmental training activities to complement your in-class courses. As a result, you'll be well-prepared to monitor and improve the natural environment.

• Our Environmental Technician program has achieved accreditation by the Canadian Environmental Accreditation Commission (CEAC), a standing committee of Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) Canada.
• Students are eligible for a number of environmental certifications through ECO Canada, including Environmental Professional (EP) and Environmental Professional-in-Training (EPt).
• Graduates of the Environmental Technician program who successfully pass the Certification Examination in the Water Treatment and Pollution Control course will have met the requirements of the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Control (MOECC) Entry-Level Course for Drinking Water Operators (which must be obtained in order to be employed as a Drinking Water Operator). The course is delivered by Fleming College in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment and the Walkerton Clean Water Centre.
• Students also acquire four MOECC Operator-in-Training Certificates ("OIT's") in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection required for employment in the drinking water and wastewater treatment disciplines.
• The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) conditionally recognizes program graduates as meeting academic requirements for certification as C. Tech. (Certified Technician)

Optional Co-op
Students entering the program in September may apply to participate in an optional paid co-op. The deadline to apply is at the end of November, where students must submit an Application Form (including a resume) to the Co-op Office. Students must achieve a 70% (2.5 GPA) average, and pass all courses in Semester 1 in order to be enrolled in the Co-op Option. Students who are accepted will participate in a Career Preparation course, and will do their co-op between semesters 2 and 3. The Co-op Option provides the opportunity to:

• Integrate classroom learning with work-based learning
• Explore the variety of careers available in the field
• Network for future job opportunities

The Co-op Option is not available for students who begin the program in January, as they attend classes over the summer.

As the role of automation expands in all industries, Artificial Intelligence professionals are in high demand. This unique, hybrid, two semester post graduate program meets this growing need for talented individuals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and tools to implement AI and machine learning technologies in different industries. Our unique learning environment and hands on training will prepare students for this emerging trend.

Program Highlights
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a two-semester Ontario College Graduate Certificate where students learn how to design and create software by embedding AI into applications that meet industry needs. Modern software design and AI frameworks, machine learning, and big data fundamentals are the basis of this program.

This program will be delivered in a hybrid format with online lectures and face-to-face computer labs where students will apply their knowledge and skills to applied projects. The program also includes applied research and applied learning experiences throughout the curriculum culminating in a second semester capstone project course.

Students will learn to obtain and analyze data sets in deep learning and machine learning applications, work collaboratively using principles of project management, and design and create software to fulfill industry project requirements. All work completed in the program will be in accordance with relevant legal statutes and ethical codes. In addition to gaining technical knowledge, students will expand their skills in project and time management, collaboration, independent initiative, and communication.

Experiential Learning
The program features a workplace applied project in the second semester. This allows you to interact with industry partners, building your collaboration and communication skills at the same time as gaining real-world experience and knowledge in your area of study. Throughout the program, you will gain applied, hands-on experience in our leading-edge labs.

Our Electrical Engineering Technician program will equip you with electrical and electronic theory and practice -  the tools you need to take on entry level positions or an apprenticeship in the electrical industry.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
The four-semester Electrical Engineering Technician program will provide you with a solid foundation. You will learn about programmable logic controls (PLCs), electrical and electronic circuits and systems, instrumentation, cabling, network engineering, and electrical machines and controls. Museum Management and Curatorship is an intensive, fast-paced, immersion experience that provides applied training for careers in the museum, gallery or heritage sectors. Approximately 75% of classes are held at the Peterborough Museum & Archives.

The third and final semester of the Museum Management and Curatorship program is a challenging, full-time, four-month internship during the spring and summer. This unpaid, curriculum-based internship will give you hands-on work experience where you will put all your hard work and studies into motion. Students should be prepared to relocate for the internship, to pay full tuition, and be self-supporting. You will negotiate your own internship with faculty assistance. During the five semesters in the Practical Nursing program, you will learn the concepts and skills related to health and nursing.
