This program is designed to prepare university and college graduates from a wide range of educational and cultural backgrounds to work as managers in international and domestic businesses of various size. Students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to manage the human, physical, and financial resources associated with international trade. The first year covers fundamental business knowledge and skills, while more complex international situations and strategic areas are the focus of the second year. The course of study promotes teamwork and leadership skills, and enhances students’ capacity to work effectively in cross-cultural environments.

This program is designed to assist Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) to work as part of an inter-professional healthcare team in geriatric and palliative care settings. Students acquire the knowledge and expertise to enhance an individual’s quality of living and dying as part of an end of life process.  To meet the individual needs of the client during this transitional phase of their life, students examine current theories and explore best practices to build skills in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Through a combination of classroom instruction and lab, students focus on the importance of communication, spirituality, ethics, law and culturally responsive nursing care for an aging or end-of-life population.  Students will have an opportunity to consolidate their classroom learning with one practicum placement in a variety of settings that may include hospital, community, home care or long term care.

The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:

• Identify and apply strategies that promote self-esteem, dignity, and independence of geriatric and palliative clients and family to support health, aging, and/or dying and death;
• Communicate effectively to strengthen interprofessional collaborative practice in the delivery of person and family-centred care;
• Provide holistic and culturally responsive care to geriatric and palliative clients and families to ease the stress of aging and/or dying an death;
• Comply with legislation, regulations and ethical standards in the provision of care for geriatric and palliative clients within the health care context;
• Apply an evidence-based perspective to inform care plans, programs and services for geriatric and palliative clients;
• Develop and use personal/professional strategies and plans for professional growth and to improve job performance in a Canadian health care operations context;
• Evaluate the efficacy of care measures delivered to geriatric and palliative clients to manage their symptoms and ensure comfort.

This program carefully balances theory and practice and parallels the two year Hospitality Management - Hotel and Resort program. In this program, students focus on computer programming, web development, and designing data-driven systems. Students learn how to write code in a variety of programming languages such as Arduino, ASP.NET, C#, Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, PHP and Swift. Students gain experience developing software for diverse platforms including embedded systems, desktop, mobile and mainframe systems. With a strong emphasis on business and entrepreneurial values, students gain experience in problem solving, troubleshooting and system building through a series of applied assignments, projects and co-op work terms.

This program provides students with a degree-level education in business management with an applied focus for the automotive industry. Students learn current issues, trends and technologies that prepare them in adopting proactive approaches in identifying and responding to changes in the automotive industry. Instruction, lecture and discussion delivery promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills and classes will often include a guest speaker series with industry representatives in attendance. Labs are a substantial part of the program and the student run Auto Show is the largest lab of its kind in Canada. A strategically sequential co-op structure serves to maximize the link between theory and practice.

Students are instructed in the use of current Web and Internet technologies to create innovative, interactive products for a variety of users, platforms, and devices. They are taught to plan, design, and develop engaging and intuitive user interfaces. Courses cover the use of current technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the Document Object Model (DOM), Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and a variety of popular scripting frameworks. With a focus on user-centred design, students apply human-computer interaction principles, standards-based technologies, and web application best practices to create an accessible, usable, and captivating user experience

Graduates of this program will be prepared for exciting careers in the field of business. Students will develop the skills to research, analyze, and manage many aspects of business. Graduates will gain specialized career expertise, technical knowledge and skills, as well as practical experience that will enable them to start or further their specific career in business. Business skills obtained in this program will enhance graduate employability and the individual’s long-term opportunities for advancement.

The complexity of industry's labour and entrepreneurial needs requires managers who can work with in a variety of settings and in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams. This program fills that need by providing project management training to candidates who require project management skills to ensure new ventures have potential for successful delivery. The program covers technical, leadership, business, and strategic management subjects with an emphasis on understanding and managing change as applied to project management.

Flight Attendants are ambassadors of the passenger experience in the Airline industry. In this program, students focus on the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to provide exceptional passenger service and deal effectively with the travelling public. Through theory and hands on experience, students gain knowledge of the various duties and responsibilities of a flight attendant and how to provide quality service and leadership. Emphasis is placed on passenger safety and use of emergency equipment through simulated experiences.

The program curriculum incorporates theory applications and practical experience from the generation, distribution, utilities and automation industries. Concepts from the sciences and humanities are emphasized to ensure that the graduate is provided with current technical knowledge, skills, and practice.
