Graduates of the program carry out human resources functions within the domestic and international business environments. Graduates are prepared to implement and evaluate plans for staffing, performance management, training, employee and labour relations, health and safety, and benefits and compensation administration functions. They are also able to apply communication, information technology, teamwork, leadership and organizational development strategies to support the human resources activities of an organization. They are able to contribute to a number of more complex functions supporting organizational effectiveness, including applying principles of financial analysis and control, collaborating in the design of an organization''s human resources plan, and in the preparation of an organization''s business plan.

Students gain knowledge and hands-on experience to work in an adjunctive capacity as supportive personnel to qualified Speech-Language Pathologists and/or Audiologists in a variety of treatment settings. Students focus on conducting programming after the Speech-Language Pathologist or the Audiologist has completed the assessment and determined the therapy plan, as well as practicing the variety of other types of duties within this profession.

Based on a thorough understanding of physiological and functional speech/language and hearing disorders, students develop programming skills and learn intervention techniques to evoke and sustain communication behaviours. In addition, students identify the behaviour and environmental factors that can potentially support or erode the efficacy of therapy.

For students interested in managing people or processes, Georgian''s two-year, Co-op, Business program provides a solid foundation in the basics of business. Studies in economics, accounting, marketing, and human resources lay the foundation for a good start. Individual courses provide the student with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to get to work. This program can launch a career or can be a spring-board into further studies.

An accounting education helps you to understand “the numbers” which is critical to the success of every type of business. If you are a logical thinker and enjoy the challenge of unravelling the mystery of numbers then this program is for you. In this increasingly complex and competitive business environment, accounting skills are very much in demand.

The program provides a foundation in all of the functional business areas and a comprehensive education in specific accounting practices and theory. Through a strong focus on application both in the classroom and through co-op work terms, students develop the skills needed for success in the business world; analytical thinking, problem solving, communication and teamwork. Students graduate ready to enter the workforce and support the accounting activities of any organization.

Students acquire the knowledge and skills required to perform in the administrative health field. Students learn document production, medical terminology, transcription, electronic health records, human anatomy, as well as courses in communication and social sciences. Students have the opportunity for hands-on learning.

Initially, students in all Office Administration streams enroll in a common first semester. Eligible students in this program are offered the opportunity for office experience within the health services community.

In this program, Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) enhance their knowledge and understanding of nursing practice in complex care environments in Ontario by developing their theoretical and clinical skills. Individuals with complex care needs often suffer from combinations of multiple chronic conditions, mental health problems, drug interactions and social vulnerability. Using an interprofessional approach, students focus on the application and evaluation of advanced theories and practices related to ethical and legal issues, pharmacology, advanced health assessment, mental health nursing practice, complex health challenges, clinical decision making, communication, cultural diversity and sensitivity. Experienced nursing faculty use a variety of active learning methods, including simulation labs and a practicum placement to assist IENs to consolidate their understanding of healthcare in Canada and the nursing profession in Ontario.

In order to provide a quality practicum placement, students will be placed in a variety of settings. Students are required to provide their own transportation for the practicum.

Students train on the theoretical and practical skills required to obtain the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) Gas Technician 3 (G.3) and Gas Technician 2 (G.2) certifications. Students study workplace safety, tools, characteristics of natural gas, codes/regulations, basic electricity, technical specifications, customer relations, basic piping systems, and an introduction to gas appliances. Further on, students study advanced piping/tubing systems, electricity, controls, systems, appliances, gas meters, pressure regulators, gas-fired refrigerators, conversion burners, water heaters, forced warm air heating systems, hydronic heating systems, space heating, venting practices, forced air add-on devices, and air handling.

Students are prepared for a career as a lab technician in a biomedical field. Experimental techniques and use of scientific equipment across a variety of disciplines including biology, chemistry and physics will form the basis of the program. Both the theoretical and practical aspects of this discipline are equally emphasized. Upon graduation, students will be able to perform a wide array of experiments and assays to answer clinically-related and scientific problems.

Students are provided with the knowledge, skills and experience to succeed within the sport industry. The fundamentals of business administration are introduced through courses in accounting, marketing, technology, research, and entrepreneurship. Operations in sport organizations are explored through curriculum in fundraising, sponsorship, program planning, leagues, tournament organizing and scheduling, fitness, outdoor recreation and facilities. In addition to the theoretical components of the program, practical experience is obtained through community leadership opportunities and field placements.

This Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) accredited program, offers students advanced courses in electrical power systems, robotics, programmable logic controllers, networking, instrumentation and project management. Students gain hands-on experience in associated lab classes using state of the art hardware and test equipment.  These courses, together with experience gained in three coop work terms with industry partners, provide students with a broad technical background and a wide range of employment opportunities in the electrical industry.
