This program is designed to assist Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) in developing themselves further as a nurse practicing in acute complex care and prepare them with the clinical skills to work in an acute complex care setting in Ontario. Emphasis is placed on the application and evaluation of advanced theories and practice in acute primary care, and guidance of others as part of the health care team. Students gain advanced theoretical and experiential knowledge in pharmacology, health assessment and emergency nursing through classroom instruction, simulation labs and practicum placements.

The program curriculum incorporates theory applications and practical experience from the generation, distribution, utilities and automation industries. Concepts from the sciences and humanities are emphasized to ensure that the graduate is provided with current technical knowledge, skills, and practice.

In this program, students gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to become marketing professionals who can effectively manage a range of tasks and functions within business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C), not-for-profit, and government organizations. Using a broad range of analytical and creative approaches, students gain a wide understanding of marketing management fundamentals as they focus on concepts related to advertising, promotion, public relations, marketing research and data analytics, online/digital marketing, and international marketing management. As a result, students gain valuable insight into all aspects of marketing from an online, local, and international perspective.

• Formulate a marketing plan that will meet the needs or goals of a business or organization;
• Develop an integrated marketing communications plan for a product, concept, good and/or service based on an identified market need or target;
• Formulate strategies for developing new and/or modified products, concepts, goods and services that respond to evolving market needs;
• Develop strategies for the efficient and effective placement/distribution of products, concepts, goods and services that respond to evolving markets;
• Evaluate the impact of using different marketing strategies for a product, concept, good and/or service, on the finances, Return on Investment (ROI) and business goals of an organization;
• Evaluate the viability of a concept, product, good and/or service in a local, national or international market;
• Conduct market research to provide information needed to make marketing decisions;
• Communicate marketing information persuasively and accurately in oral, written, graphic and interactive media formats;
• Plan, prepare and deliver a sales presentation or pitch that addresses the needs of the client;
• Develop strategies with clients, customers, and consumers and others to grow and maintain relationships;
• Develop learning and development strategies and plans to enhance professional growth in the field;
• Apply entrepreneurial strategies to identify and respond to new career opportunities that might include contract employment and self-employment initiatives;

• Employ the management techniques of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of marketing functions and activities in response to the business needs of the organization.

In this program, students gain advanced skills in the use of environmental sampling, monitoring and testing equipment; data analysis; and information technology tools. They become familiar with applying the principles of ecosystem-based management for sustainability and develop the ability to manage environmental projects from planning through to implementation and maintenance. Through applied knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements, students contribute to risk assessment and environmental systems management. Students are provided an opportunity to apply their skills through partnerships in the community and stresses the need for designing and implementing systems to prevent, control and clean-up environmental contamination.

This program provides students with a degree-level education in business management with an applied focus for the automotive industry. Students learn current issues, trends and technologies that prepare them in adopting proactive approaches in identifying and responding to changes in the automotive industry. Instruction, lecture and discussion delivery promotes critical thinking and problem solving skills and classes will often include a guest speaker series with industry representatives in attendance. Labs are a substantial part of the program and the student run Auto Show is the largest lab of its kind in Canada. A strategically sequential co-op structure serves to maximize the link between theory and practice.

This program provides graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to function competently in the role of an Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTA and PTA) in a complex health care environment. OTAs and PTAs work under the supervision of and in collaboration with occupational therapists and physiotherapists, respectively and assist these therapists to teach and enable clients to effectively cope with their limitations in movement, daily functioning, and activities whether temporary or permanent, during and following recovery. This program is a combination of practical and theoretical learning achieved through classroom, laboratory and field placements. To meet the needs of clients in agency and community settings, learning will take place with an inter-professional approach.

In this program,students experience a unique blend of health care and business management. Through theory and practical experience in labs/clinics, students learn to competently dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses and sub-normal vision devices, and learn about basic refraction. Students gain  a strong foundation of ocular sciences in optics and anatomy,  and are provided the expertise necessary to layout and edge lenses for frame insertion, as well as repair, customize and modify eyewear to the patient/clients' needs. Emphasis is also placed on professional services. Through critical thinking, problem solving, and entrepreneurial skills, students learn to  how to establish and operate a small business, how to use effective sales techniques, and enhance communication and interpersonal skills in order to be successful in the optical retail environment.

Upon successful completion of the academic and co-operative education semesters, students are eligible to write the national registration examinations which allow them, if successful, to practice in Canada as a Registered Optician.

Marketing professionals drive organizational success for corporations and non-profits by translating customer desires into effective strategies. Students learn to assess market opportunities, segment target markets, and create strategies and tactics that help achieve organizational goals. Students build a solid business foundation and develop skills across the spectrum of marketing activity, from research, through strategy development and planning, sales, digital marketing and social media, and persuasive communication across media platforms. Through the busy student-run agency, students work on a wide range of projects they ultimately pitch to the clients for possible implementation. 

In this program, students are prepared with the knowledge, skills and professional competencies required for the Esthetics Industry. Students in this program are able to provide spa modalities, such as make up and specialized skin, body and hand/foot treatments. In addition, business applications required to run a small business are emphasized. This program has been designed with the intent to academically prepare students for international testing and to inspire a passion for the health and wellness industry.

This program prepares students for careers involving the development, evaluation, and support of IT security solutions. Building on previous educational experience, students learn to create cost effective and secure computing environments. Graduates are able to categorize, design, implement, and integrate technical and managerial safeguards to ensure the security of networked computer systems. An emphasis will be placed on interpersonal, organizational, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills applied to enhance the effective implementation of security in a business environment.
